My expectations were not high because of the low price. Don't let the low price fool you. This is an awesome well-made highly functional and beautiful enough for the living room. Peace. An excellent gift!

It’s fun and cool to play with sadly it’s not well made. I had to make adjustments to even get it to work and then it still is a lil wonky. Low quality. Family still does really like It tho…

Arm doesn’t fit right. It’s defective

This is not really a perpetual motion machine or even the equivalent that humans can produce. It only moves for about 3 mins and needs to be restarted. It is attractive, however. The arm positioning is crucial and requires tweaking to ensure the best result, and also the amount of sand, which is not precisely measured prior to shipping. I have found the best result when the pendulum doesn't actually touch the sand.

I read the issues others had with theirs, I did not share those experiences. It is lovely! Very calming.

Cool in theory it teeters off the little indents when you try to let it spin and it’s uneven and hits the edges instead of going all the way around. And you have to kind of put it together yourself. A little disappointing

I've never played with one of these before but they've always intrigued me. Now I got one! It comes unassembled with no instructions so you have to figure it out. It seemed fairly obvious how to put it together except I didn't know what the stick was for. There are two bags of sand: one to use and one for extra sand down the road. The amount of sand seems to be perfectly measured so don't add any extra until you know for sure you'll need it. The pendulum is already correctly lengthened but it's adjustable with a little thumb screw on top. Getting the sand just right was the hardest part because it needs to be concave, not level. I used the stick to make it concave by laying the stick across the top and pressing in the middle and then rotating the stick to repeat all around. After the sand was distributed correctly and the pendulum swung several times, it worked great. It can flick sand off the edges if swung too hard but easy enough to clean up.
