One item was ok, the other is broken. No return policy, so the cost of one is the price of two. I had to select a star. Updated July 14th: Vendor contacted me thru Amazon and directed me to return the broken item. I dropped the broken one off at a UPS and expect a refund on the part that was broken. I've updated my rating to 5 stars.

I love the quality and the size is substantial. They don't work in Texas heat. Just too hot here and I find myself filling up almost every other day. I think they are good otherwise. They don't end to be wetter closer to the jar...so plant things that need more water in the middle and less as you migrate away. These jars won't really replace a proper drip system though. I wanted to do that as part of my limiting plastics in the garden. But these beautiful jars are not it at least in my territory. I think they would work in milder climates.

Leaving my herb garden when away on vacation was stressful, worrying if it will get enough water. These terracotta containers work as advertised, slowly adding moisture to the soil.

This little jar keeps the soil moist in my pot of Bee Balm. My plants weren't thriving because they needed moister soil, and I wasn't able to keep up with their water needs. I soaked the Olla for 15 minutes as indicated in the instructions, and planted it up to the neck in my barrel planter, filling it up to the top with water, and replacing the lid. I'll check it weekly and fill as needed. The small size is perfect for the planter. The water will seep out into the surrounding soil and help keep consistent moisture in planter. If you live in an area that freezes, I recommend removing the Olla and storing it inside over the winter.
