order your normal size
Love these shoes, only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the size. I ordered 1/2 size smaller as recommended by others reviews. I normally wear an 8 1/2. The 8s are almost too small. I was going to send them back, but thought once I stretch them out by using them they will fit just right. I went for a run and had no issues with them hurting my feet. I continued to wear them the remainder of the day, by the end of the day the tips of my bog toes hurt a little due to the size. I should have sent them back but it's too late now. I still love them and will continue to use them for running

Great looking shoes, but the fit is not great at all
First of all, let me say that I really, really wanted to like these shoes. The blue green pink combination is great. I ordered a 6, my usual size, but they were way too small and very tight across the base of my toes. So I exchanged for a 6 1/2. Better, but still uncomfortably tight across the base of my toes. This is right where the tongue is sewn into the shoe. The insert in the shoe is absolutely worthless. It is flimsy and does not give any support to the arches. I changed it out for some custom orthotics that I already had, and they didn't work in the shoe either. I wore the shoes around the house for a couple of hours and finally gave up because the shoes hurt my feet.

Vibrant colors!
Love the crazy vibrant colors! I wear a size 8. These are a little wider and larger than my average fit but with a thicker sock it works just fine. Definitely keeping them!!!

Good shoes
The missus likes these shoes a lot. And I like them too, for obvious reasons.

I love these shoes
I love these shoes! The toe box is extra wide so it is perfect for my feet. The shoe hugs my foot so well! I would recommend these to anyone

Drawbacks to the lace system, but decent shoe.
Only had them a day, but not super thrilled with the lace system. It's a real pain to tuck them into the pocket and and you cannot re-lace them they way you'd like, new lace systems are $8.50 at REI. I usually lace my shoes with a "window" to avoid pressure sensitive spots on my feet. Looks like you could change out the laces with some type of dress shoe lace, but normal laces probably won't fit through the small eyelets. When pulling on the lace itself it cuts into your hand like a thin string would. Lacing these seem to take longer (the tucking), but they won't ever come unlaced. I'm always adjusting my laces, so it's a bit annoying for me. The "tongue" is a solid piece of neoprene(?) sewn to the sides so it won't be siding around and provides good cushioning for the laces. Good padding at the back of the shoe. These are wide across the front of the shoe which I kind of like, but might feel sloppy to some, or if they stretch. I think these do run a bit long, too. Last pair of Nike's I bought were a half size larger. They do not have a lot of cushioning like a running shoe. but there is some. They have a bit more support across the arch (not in the footbed) and the left is actually irritating my foot a bit - but I have problems with that foot - putting in new footbeds solved the problem. Foot beds are the cheap ones found in most shoes - I replaced mine. I bought these just to wear around (no running for me) and need a good shoe for my plantar fasciitis. They are sort of cute, but no shoes look cute on a women's size 10 and it isn't my main concern. Tread looks substantial for light trails - I use hiking boots on almost all trails anyways. Construction seems adequate though I have noticed some sloppily sewn corners.

Narrow Heals with a Wider Toe Box - Perfect Fit
I am a Section Hiker on the AT, as wells as a daily walker or runner. The first pair of trail running shoes (not Salomon, a traditional hiking shoe), I lost 2 toenails and had black and blue big toenails and blisters. I then spent about 2 hours at REI picking out these bad boys. The Salomon Women's XR Mission was the perfect fit and performed like a champ on rocky and root terrain. I did go up a half size as recommended for hikers and all was good with my padded socks. I have narrow heals and an average width toe box. However, I have small bunions and fat pinky toes, so this shoe accommodates the need for extra width at the toe box in addition to the give it provides on the side panels. No blisters and no toenail loss-- I am now buying my second pair and yes, I like the funky colors!

Alright, Alright, Alright - Let's get going!
I have never purchased actual trail runners and I am sorry I am late to the party! These work great as an all around active shoe. They are light enough to run in and have a very wide toe space. I love the lacing system and never have to adjust mid trail. They work well on rocky terrain with enough stiffness to brace your arch in uneven surfaces. I may have to buy another color to add some variety. Thanks Salomon for giving wide feet a break.
