Definitely recommend and works to keep clean!
This product really helped keep our camper clean and extend our living space. I don't usually write reviews but this we were so impressed with that I wanted to be sure to write one. We bought the 12x12 and I wouldn't have bought smaller. Great product and sand goes through with some wiping with feet. Needs to be dry but then falls through. Great way to wipe feet off before stepping into camper. Barely needed to vacuum over the several days we used on the beach. Easy to out in bag too.

Magic
Just took this camping on Lake McConoughey, where it's all fine sand. We put this outside our camper, and the 6x6 size is the perfect size for walking in and out. It works so well, whisking the sand off your feet. You can even see the diminshing footsteps as you walk across it. Wet feet will still hold sand, but this was a great addition to our camper. Totally worth the price. Other items I came across were just large towels, but this is a mat designed to let sand fall through. This would be good for picnics, camping, or other outdoor activites. It rolls up easily, and the sand shakes right off so there's no cleaning involved.

5 stars for the mat, 4 for the bag
This is my second CGear sand-free mat. These mats are great for under your tent in both dirt and sand, to help keep the sand/dirt out of your tent. (Note: there will still be sand/ dirt but this mat dramatically decreases the amount that would otherwise get inside your tent from entering/ exiting repeatedly). My only issue with this product is that CGear didn't make it easy to get the mat back inside the bag for storage when not in use.

Great for camping!
I researched a ton before I bought this rug/mat. We use two mats to spread in front of our camper door and it works great. At every campsite, I have people ask me for the link so they can replace their outdoor porch rugs that are difficult to fold and heavy when they get wet. PROS: Easy to fold away when traveling. When it rains, we fold it up and put it in plastic bin. It dries out very quickly since it's a plastic weave. Instead of buying one very large, we purchased two so it's easier to pack. We camp on dirt and sand, and it's freakin' great at keeping the stuff below the mat. Easy to clean - we hang it over fence and spray with hose. It's dry in less than an hour. CONS: bit expensive (but well worth it).

Amazing mat with some caveats.
We just used this to our trip to Port Aransas beach, Texas. I freaking love this thing! Not knowing that this beach is more for the tailgaters than the sand loungers; we placed this out first to place out beach blankets onto, so that sand didn't make it's way to the towels. The sand did not make it's way to the towels but my girlfriend and I got washed out by a quick wave that made it's way to our spot. Everything was soaking wet and salt/sand water was on everything. We needed to lay everything out to dry. The water and sand that washed it's way up sifted through the mat and the mat was completely dry after laying it out for a few minutes. So we ended up using the mat to lay out all the rest of the belongings to dry in the sun and to help us get all the sand off of the towels, once dried so that we could wipe our bodies off, after coming in from the waters. I am so in love with this mat! After we had regrouped (got smart), we decided to bring our car onto the beach and parked it next to us, with our belongings in the trunk, right on the beach. I placed this mat right on the sand next to the rear bumper of our 4runner so that when people came up to the trunk of the car to get their, drinks, snacks, towels, change song, put on more sunscreen, etc, they were able to wipe off their feet of sand and dry off with a clean towel. This allowed us to keep a sand free barrier around the congregation area at the car! I noticed that everyone with us on the beach that day, loved the mat and found themselves sitting and standing on it rather than the shallow area of the water. It kept us all cleaner and gave us a break from the sticky sand when we needed it. Now the bad news. I got several globules of beach tar onto the mat and have to figure out a way to get it off of the mat. It looks like there are three layers of plastic weave that it got into that I need to clean off. I am going to try some WD-40 to work it's way off of the mat. I also noticed that the metal rings to stake the mat down got rusted. So I will need to clean them of the rust and protect them with a coat of clear coat of paint so that they do not rust in the future.

Wow! This actually works!
Initially, I wanted the 8 foot x 8 foot and ended up ordering the 6 foot x 6 foot due to availability. I am actually glad I only got the 6 foot one as I didn't need more. I took this to the beach with my family for 1 week (6 days of beach use). I can confirm what several reviews say. This works awesome for dry sand. With wet sand (as you would expect) as the clumping does not allow for the sifting action to work. I did not use tie downs and was in 10+ MPH winds the entire week. This was not an issue with how heavy the blanket is. ONE minor issue: the cord that closes the bag doubles as a shoulder strap. This came out on its first use. Not a huge deal though as the closure still worked fine. I am so happy with the product itself that I will not complain about the bag at all. It is just something to be aware of. For folks that toss this in a cart, this won't make or break the deal. For those that want to use this as a strap, just loop the remaining cord over your shoulder and it works fine. All-in-all, I cannot recommend this enough. Once I was done with my week of use, I hosed this down and was able to remove any few sand remnants that were left (hardly any).

Great for camping trips
We use this "rug" under our dog's tent while camping. When our dog isn't with us, we use it in front of our tent so that we have a relatively clean & dry place to take off our shoes before getting inside the tent. It's heavy duty material, and I like the metal D-rings at the corners and sides so we can stake it down to keep it lying flat. Rain and small debris like sand and grit just fall through it because it's like a mesh material. I also like that it's reversible! Very easy to hose it off at home after a camping trip too. Comes with a good quality carrying bag to store it in. We have the 6'x6' size, and are considering buying the 12'x12' version to use when we go RV camping. A bit pricey perhaps, but you do get a quality item for your money so I highly recommend it.
