Soma is truly amazing! This is a must read for anyone who has a child with non-verbal autism or anyone (Educators) who works with children with autism. Soma's technique is revolutionary and the letter board has worked with our son who has non-verbal autism. Our son is 8 years old and has been seeing Soma for 2 years now. Soma has unlocked his knowledge with the letter board and has given our son a voice! He is using the letter board with me at home and is starting to use it at school with his teachers. Her book helped me with my technique and educating my son. We are so grateful for Soma and cannot thank her enough for what she has done. Soma's book explains how to teach a non-verbal child (or any other child, for that matter) how to express themselves through simple, straightforward methods. This means that these children can be taught to share their desires and hopes, and demonstrate to the rest of the world the insights they have to share. Reading it gave me great hope that these children can be made a part of society, rather than simply being pushed aside and lost. Help persons with autism or poor verbal skills become contributors to the world! They have much more to share than we've given them credit for!

Wonderful, MUST read if your child or student has autism. Often left out in education and therapy is understanding of the neuroscience behind autism. Understanding what is going on in the brain and then what to do about it can be found in the pages of this book. I also readers look at other books by Soma. This is a foundational book for RPM that should be read at large by professionals and parents a like.

My grandson is autistic and we have read a lot of different books on the subject with a lot of different theories. This book and author gives hope of establishing some form of communication for children and adults who are impacted by autistism.
