Lectrolite 5 x GU10 11w CFL Energy Saving Light Bulbs. Low 11w Usage But 50 Watt Equal Light. (Cool White)

The product arrived very fast. The light are very bright, maybe even too bright for their 50W designation. I installed them in my ceiling fixture connected to a Leviton IPL06-10Z electro-mechanical slide dimmer, but they only dim half way with the dimmer on the lowest setting. Even when the dimmer's button is in the OFF state, one can still see the 4 bright dots in every bulb. I tried replacing the dimmer with a Lutron Maestro digital one, but it only made the matters worse - the lights stay on even in the dimmer's OFF position. If the lights require a special dimmer, the seller should state so.

This review applies to the vendor rather than the product. One of the bulbs in the consignment developed a strange defect, where, I assume, through a manufacturing defect, it had been made with TWO glasses on the end. I had fitted the bulb, when soon afterwards, a glass flew off, but in inspection of the bulb, there was still a glass on the end of it and it was still working. However, about six weeks later, the second glass flew off, leaving the tube exposed.gI reported the incidents to the vendor, who immediately offered to replace the bulb. No quibble, they did not want to see the defective bulb, no suggestion of mishandling - just an immediate offer of replacement or refund. Impressive service.

I bought these bulbs to replace the LCD bulbs supplied with the light fittings B & Q sell, it is the nature of LCD bulbs that they do not light to full brightness immediately, if you need instant light or dimmable light get the 50W halogen bulbs instead. The fact is though given a couple of minutes the LCD bulbs get just as bright as the halogen ones and cost 1/5th money to run, our kitchen light fittings have 10 bulbs altogether so the savings are considerable. Whilst I have no idea how long the bulbs will last, this particular make actually lights faster than my B & Q supplied originals so I have no problem recommending them.

Arrived on time and although a different shape to the ones being replaced the measurements suggested they would fit. And they did! This one is bright straight away unlike the other bulbs in the ceiling but they eventually catch up. Although these are 2700k and the ones in the ceiling are 3000k the colour appears the same (to my eyes anyway!)

I have been using this bulbs for the last 10 years in the ceiling of my kitchen. It has been difficult finding them as many manufacturers no longer make them.

Not instantly bright but they soon warm up to full power. One bulb did 'go' within a few weeks but the others are still going strong after a few months (as you would expect!)

Good value, and was the perfect replacement for the original product. The 1mm shorter length is indistinguishable from the original.
