SpaceStation Sim - PC

Love this game, even though its not a great game. PC would not play on my pc, so I couldn't test it, but that was my fault since it wasn't compatible with my pc!

Once you get past the learning curve, building a station is challenging and fun! Pay attention to the tutorial and it will help immensely.

At first it sounds like a great game. Somewhat more realistic maybe than you may like but it starts out well. Kids may enjoy it. But...the manual is not very helpful. It explains a lot of what you have to do but fails to really explain how to do it. For example, how do I keep my station from falling into the atmosphere? The manual has a paragraph that talks about orbital decay and how to stop it. Kind of. I never figured out HOW the equipment was activated or how I could use it, or have the crew use it, to keep the station in orbit. And this is a SIM. Yes, you are spending a LOT of time telling people who should be very smart when to use the toilet, when to eat, when to sleep. When they are not carrying out repairs, turning machinery on and off, and getting whiny! The game is about managing resources and keeping things in balance and keeping track of all the details. Sad to say, the interface could be better, I wish the manual had more details to help us with the details, and a longer tutorial would be nice. This game feels like it needed better testing. It feels very Beta. I have never finished a game, mostly out of boredom, and wonder if anybody else has ever finished a game? How DO you finish this game?Also, to be honest, the graphics feel outdated. VERY outdated. I have seen reviews that stated the graphics were horrible even by the standards of the 90's and, well, it is kind of true.

This game is great for an educational sim. Yes, you can complete the game. It's not too difficult if you play long enough. It wets your appetite to know more about the International Space Station. It's a great science lesson too. Imagine Sims if you had to maintain the atmosphere along with the supplies. You can get creative by building different configurations of the space station, or match the current configuration of the ISS close enough. There are some goofy parts of the game, but I guess it was designed to be fun for kids instead of grownup science snobs.This is the only space station simulator on the market that actually provides the feel of both building and living on a space station. It was designed in collaboration with NASA. I would give the game 5 stars, but there is a few areas that could have used improvement. Sadly, it's unlikely that there will be upgrades to this game because EA bought out the game engine it was built on and doesn't seem to be interested in continuing the project. The original developers have discussed on their website why they don't plan to upgrade or start over from scratch.

My 11 yr old son says the controls and operating the astronauts are confusing. But that he likes that you can continue building the space stace station.

This works great..came before was expected..son loves it!!! Thank you so much!! Item as decribed!! Son beat game already but he's 17.

Instructions suck (there is none outside of extremely limited tutorial. but the entire game is ok. It is decent for kids who are interested in a easy to play space station simulator. I like it but I truly only bought it to relive some of my childhood
