A wonderful prequel book to the events of the film "Terminator Salvation"
I simply found it fascinating, how the characters Losenko and Ashdown were explored in this book - the two characters who appeared in the film but whose past we did not get to see. Here, one sees their dark pasts and how they worked their way up to the top of the Human Resistance against the machines.

Great Read
I loved the depth with which the author provided details concerning events transpiring before the movie. I wish more of the novelization made it to the big screen.

Great book in the Terminator series
The year is 2003 and Judgement Day has happen and for the crew of the Russian Gorshkov they has just lunched there missles at the state of Alaska. In 2018 Molly Kookesh and her group are fighting skynet, trying to survive in the frozen wildness of Alaska. The lives of the Russian crew and the fighters will come together as they trying to save what left of the human race and stop Skynet once and for all."Terminator Salvation: Cold War" by Greg Cox is a great book for any fan of the "Terminator Series!" Mr.Cox takes the reader for Judgement Day and the beginning of the resistance the front lines of the battle to stop Skynet once and for all. I like the fact that the story isn't all about John Conner, but rather how both real soldiers and everyday people are trying to stop Skynet "Cold War" is a book that should not be miss by any fan of the "Terminator Series!"

Will satisfy some Terminator die-hard fans.
The writing was fairly bland and gave the impression that the book was churned out in a relatively short period of time in order to cash-in on the Terminator brand. Other Terminator books have had far more exciting storylines and intricate plots. Some elements were over-done (a Terminator "train"?!). All-in-all, this book will satisfy those who are wanting to read a Terminator story while they wait for the next movie to come out. Otherwise, its just a lukewarm story.

Five Stars
Good sci-fi. Picks up where Terminator leaves off, giving you a background story that fits in with canon.

Good addition to the storyline
This book definitely adds to the Terminator storyline. It answers the questions of what was it like immediately after Judgement Day and during the forming of the Resistance. It also gave a peek at how Skynet built up it's forces in the beginning. The author though seriously needs to do more research into weapons and military subjects. There were numerous errors. For a few examples: The M-4 carbine is chambered for 5.56mm, not 45mm (which would be an anti-aircraft cannon round). The fuze on the M-67 Fragmentation grenade is 3-5 seconds, not a set 4.2 seconds. The A-10 Warthog is not a fighter. And blasting caps are not a separate demolition charge with the strength of a satchel charge. If you write a book that you want to include details on weapons or anything to do with the military, take 5-10 minutes and look the info up. Don't just go off of info from a cheap low budget war movie.
