I'm sorry I can't answer your question, I bought it for my niece who lives in another state. I gave it to her when she was two and she loves playing with it and turning the button to wind up the music. She is now three and still plays with it all the time.

Well this is not the Fisher Price record player, this is their version of he radio. I believe it plays just music and no words. I have had at least 3 or 4 of these in the past (three were gifts) and I do not remember any singing from this radio. I am so glad to see the "oldies" being made again.
