Joy does it again
Having been given an advanced copy of the latest book in the Jackman and Evans series, I’m again astounded by how Joy Ellis does it.I’m pretty sure this would have been read in one sitting had it not been for the fact that I had to get at least a few hours sleep before work because I was drawn in from the very start. As is the norm with Joy’s books, the story is multi-layered as different strands run alongside each other - with a series of murders, investigations into a group involved in a local film shoot and the return of an old foe who will be no stranger to those who have read the other novels that hve gone before. There is also the fall out of what happened in the previous book to contend with as Jackman struggles to come to terms with changes in his personal life just as his work life gets more hectic than ever. This is another well written novel that races along and is sure to draw you in and leave you wanting more - and I really hope there is more to come.Although it can be read as a standalone, for maximum enjoyment I would suggest reading the other novels first.

Another brilliant book
What a read this was. I love all of this author's series and I am particularly fond of Jackman and Evans and the extended team. It beings with Marie being contacted by an old colleague who is an advisor on a film set who is convinced there's something so dodgy going on and that his life is in danger. The set moves closer to the police base and there's a new ex-policeman on board as the latest advisor. Jackman knows him so convinces him to report on anything suspicious. At the same time, John is back with a new sidekick to continue their quest set by Stephen, a pyschopath currently locked up but whose reach seems very far indeed.I was gripped with this from the start. My curiousity was piqued with both sets of stories and when things become more personal for the whole team, I was quite mad on their behalf. It's amazing how quality writing can make you so invested in fictional characters. This had everything, shock, suspense, and a lot of unexpected surprise twists particularly at the end. A totally engrossing book that leaves me wanting more.My thanks to Joffe Books for a copy of this and this is my honest review.

Another great story from Joy Ellis
Another excellent Jackman and Evans instalment by the very talented Joy Ellis! In this instalment we see Jackman trying to move forward in the wake of Laura’s death whilst Marie finds happiness for the first time.Whilst working to establish who is killing attractive men covered in body oil, Jackman, Evans and the team become hunted themselves. Just when you think the team are in serious danger, Ellis throws her usual curve ball into the mix and the investigation takes a different direction. I would highly recommend reading this and the rest in the series.

Riveting read.
I'm a great fan of Joy Ellis' books and this one is another brilliant story in a long line of them. The Jackman and Evans partnership works so well and Joy Ellis makes us feel that we know them and their families.Marie is contacted by an old friend and colleague, Dougie, he tells her about the job he has been working on a film set, and that hes going into hiding, later the body of a young man turns up on the riverside.Add the evil Alistair Ashcroft into the mix and the story goes to another level. Throughly riveting book.

An absolutely brilliant book
I love Joy Ellis'es books and have enjoyed this series of Jackman and Evans. This is book 10 in the series and can be read as a standalone, but to know the characters and what has happened to them, it would be best reading some of the others. This book had me sat on the edge of my seat , captured and captivated into this gripping read.It has a brilliant, well written storyline and plot with great characters and many a twist and turn.It has your mind working overtime trying to solve, which I never did, with the red herrings sending me on a wild goose chase along with those twists I never saw coming. This is truly the best one yet in the series, a fantastic book. I look forward to the next one.My thanks to Joffe books for the advanced copy. This is my honest and unbiased review.

A Joy to Read!
Wow! Joy has done it again! With each book read, you think “that’s the best ever”, until the next book! I adore all the characters in Joy’s books, but Jackman and Evans are special, and the storyline in this one is totally riveting, I couldn’t put it down! Best ever!

Non stop drama and suspense.
I found this to be a breath of fresh air. Joy Ellis has done it again cleverly continuing the Jackman saga with an unusual mystery crime which I thought to be something out of the ordinary but realistic. I also liked the psychological insight from behind prison bars and how the plot unfolds with non stop drama and suspense. Undoubtedly the best in the series. Highly recommended.
