I didn't expect much from this for the price but it really does work! It doesn't work as well cooling down a big room but in a small space it works great. I've used it on my desk whilst working from home and as it's portable I even used it in a very hot train carriage yesterday which made the journey much more bearable!

The media could not be loaded. Not completely silent but not super noisy. Works well for its size. Works extra well if you add ice to the top.

UPDATE, so the water droplets I am guessing are condensation drops, there is no real leak causing a puddled pool at base. Phew!This tiny portable unit is amazing, and I would recommend for you to buy. However, it will not cool a room as would properly installed air conditioning, or a much larger cooling unit (one where you hang the tube through a window). For the price, it is a must have. Unfortunately those ridiculously high temps have past, but it still has a place in low 20's. Oh, and ice does help, but is short lived in high temps.HTH xx************************************************Hmm, seemed to start off great with cold water in the tank. Then just started leaking. Would like to know why please? 2 stars until I know this is more of a science thing, rather than faulty product!This is an up close fan. Kinda cools the room, but not in high temps we getting at the moment. (30 degs plus humidity).Waiting for ice to arrive, see if we can improve cooling temperatures.

Bought 2 of these because of the description that they provide cool air. DESCRIPTION: Cools, humidifies for better air, refrigeration design take you away from the hot summer. FACT: After filling the reservoir with ice cubes and topping up with cold water, there was NO detectable cool air (even sitting one foot away) and could not feel ANY water spray. This item is no better than an ordinary fan and does NOT provide ANY COOL AIR. The 5 Star Reviews must be fictitious because THIS UNIT IS USELESS AS AN AIR COOLER! Don't waste your time and money!

I'm now using it for the first time and so wishing it was worth keeping. I just can't believe this has so many stars. I got it to go in our caravan but unless you have your face stuck to it it's not worth having on. For reference, I'm sitting right in front and it's filled with normal cold water. It is 30 deg today though. Have to say, if it was a gift then I'd put it next to my bed at night as it's dead quiet but don't think you'd hardly feel it. Love the idea but it needs to be stronger so I'm returning it

Bought this to keep the kids (Staffys) cool in summer. Works well.
