Broke after a year
I used this frame to grow runner beans after having problems previously with canes collapsing. I found it very hard to arrange the netting over the poles when assembling. The whole frame collapsed when the beans were mature. The connecting pieces snapped, as seen in this photo. This may be due to the weight of the beans growing up the frame, or it could be a cat tried to jump onto it! The tent pegs holding the poles in place do not hold them well enough, especially after all the wet weather this year that made the ground soft. Longer pegs would be better.

Attractive way of growing climbers and runner beans.
This maypole looks attractive in the garden. It needed more support to hold it in place in the strong winds but on the whole it did a great job holding our runner bean plants.

Practical and will do the job
Quality isn’t a good as I expected, particularly the ties as they are just quite shiny shoelace material - albeit strong. The top also didn’t seem to be welded on very neatly. When erected however it does look better and should be good for growing sweet peas in my flower bed. Full height it is quite tall and so I removed one of the middle pole sections and tied the ropes shorter to allow the maypole to be placed in a smaller bed. I’m not sure I would have paid £20 had I seen it in person but it does have the benefit of folding away very small unlike other obelisks.

Lovely addition to a garden
Lovely addition to a garden. Easy to use and easy to store at the end of the season.

Not great, stick to canes
I brought this hoping to replace bamboo canes I usually use. The frame is not at all sturdy and the legs fall off at a drop of a hat. The netting does not cover the whole frame either as it was a strange hour glass shape!

Just right for tomatoes
Good size frame for growing tomatoes in a large pot. Metal frame strong enough to cope with the weight of the plants. I felt the rubber joints weren't large or strong enough to hold the panels together, so I have temporarily wired my panels together. Might buy another of these to put some climbing annuals up for next year.
