It is more like a 5qt. There's a big gap when we put it into our 6qt slow cooker. It's pretty thick and seemed to length the cook time of the roast.

This was too tall for my crock pot - I couldn't get the lid on, plus it was too small, even though I got the correct size. I'm sad because I really wanted to like this.

We love this insert for small batches of chili or large batches of cheese dip. We pour water around the outside for better heat transfer (and steam). Serving is soft and clean up is a breeze. Nothing sticks!
