Good for stroke victim
I got this for my Mum to use for holding eating utensils. It works well enough after getting used to it. It can be fiddly to get the utensils to stay in it if the handles are smooth metal, but wrapping the handle in electrical tape before sliding it in this allowed it to hold it better.

It definitely helps but technique is different
It definitely helps if like me you have dexterity/grip issues as it straps to your hand, and despite having hand issues I've been able to strap it on myself without help which isn't always the case. The only downside for me is you do have to change your technique, you actually end up using the fork like a shovel - you can use it as normal but you'll need to have good wrist motion. For home use its definitely helped on my worst days, despite losing a bit of etiquette! But it's good value for money and worth having nearby.
