MG Collection Penelope 2-in-1 Bucket Tote Bag with Pouch

SO - let's get to the only thing I dislike about this bag: the smell. As another reviewer pointed out - this bag STINKS when it arrives. Not just a little bit, due to sitting in a plastic bag or a warehouse. It smells like fish so strongly that my fiancé smelled it multiple feet away when I opened the box.The bag is so handy, I had to take it on a trip right away. Which was a good idea and a bad idea. Bad idea because I was that girl in the airport and on the plane that had a faint fishy smell around her. Awesome!A great idea because the bag was perfect for all of my goodies on a plane ride (makeup bag, large book, laptop, phone, hand sanitizer, etc).Just know that you will have to do some serious smell control when you buy this bag. We were in Hawaii for 5 days, and I left the large bag propped open with dryer sheets shoved in it, on our patio table. I took the smaller bag out, and pulled the lining out so it could fully air - I also left that outside on our patio table for the full 5 days.By the end of the trip, the bag smelled much better. The large bag is 100% smell free, though the smaller bag is still a bit stinky. I will probably pull the lining out again and lay it out in our guest room, and give it a good dose of Rx Febreeze.Also - the bag looks like a soft, velvety leather or suede online. It's more of a hard leather in person. It's also not a camel/caramel color - it's more of a reddish brown color.I still love it though!! Lots of pockets and two beautiful bags for an amazing price. My fiancé was just excited that I finally retired my Jansport backpack from airport travel.

This is an amazing duo, that is a work horse for an everyday tote . The material looks expensive, it is soft, supple and packable and the price is very reasonable. I use this every day as a tote for books, notebooks, DVDs; you name it. The interior pocket can be removed to be used as a shoulder bag or cross body bag; this is really awesome, for when you want to off load smaller items into if from the tote bag and carry it separately. I have purchased many tote bags over the years, finding some very cumbersome and others too small to help but this one is as Goldilocks would say, "Just right!" The gold trim is not brassy, and it helps add a dash of fashion to this wonderful team of carry-alls. I have rolled them up separately or laid them out flat in my suitcase to use on trips. You know that you really love something when you think of purchasing another set for that day when the current one wears out and you want to be assured of having a back up. This is a "must have" if you have to carry items from home, to work or school or plane to hotel and back again. This dynamic duo will make you look good and help out as you do all that and more.

I was looking for a tote to take traveling and came across this tote/purse combination. This bag is perfect in so many ways - no external zipper to rub against your clothing (I've had bags create pilling by the zipper rubbing against my clothes), it's vegan and affordable so I have no compunction about shoving it under an airplane seat or setting it on the floor, the rectangular shape is taller than it is wide which means it doesn't bang into people when walking down the aisle of the plane while resting on my carry-on, it looks like gorgeous real leather (it really is beautiful), the interior bag is a perfectly sized purse (also no exterior zipper) and is equally gorgeous with plenty of space and interior pockets, both bags have a top zipper for security, and I can carry them both cross-body. The stitching on the cross-body strap is coming undone (thus only four stars), but I did use it extensively every day for a month-long trip and can fix it easily. I love this bag, and am ready to buy the other colors.

I am really, really happy with this purchase. I use a tote bag for work everyday and sometimes I hate having a tote AND a purse. This allows me to have a larger backup bag on days when I have lots of files or toting a lunch in the morning. Then when I'm done I can pop the liner back in and reattach the shoulder strap. You really can't beat the price of this for what you get. It's great for shopping as well. I can take the inner portion out and now I have a nice size tote for goods. The totes handles are large enough to fit over my shoulder even if I'm wearing a coat plus or I can just carry it crossbody. I've found if it's super stuffed, I do just have to carry on my forearm. The larger tote even has a zipper so if it's not too crammed full of junk you can zip it and don't have to worry about your stuff flying all over the car or for security reasons when you're out and about. Seriously, this design is genius. It's great to have a liner that you can take out and attach the strap to for a purse AND have a tote with you. I really wish I would have found this item years ago.

This purse/bag is really really nice. I bought the tan bag, which is a little darker than pictured and that's a good thing. The "leather" is soft and the accents look posh, the bag has a flat bottom but doesn't really stand on it's own until you put some stuff in it, the best thing about it is the hobo purse. The purse can actually clip into the big bag so it looks like compartments. There are interior pockets in the hobo purse but not the big bag. I use it for work and it can accommodate an over-sized text book, spiral notebook, a folder and my anything else I put in the purse part. There is a removable adjustable strap that will fit on either bag, I use in on the bigger bag and wear it as a crossbody.I looked at these types of bags at department stores and found that they usually go for $250, and this bag is just as nice. In fact my coworker, who has a similar Coach bag couldn't believe how nice my amazon bag was. I added pictures and put it next to a backpack for size comparison.
