Black Hood Scoop

I took a chance after reading the reviews and seeing some of the review photos. I hit the jackpot and got a scoop that looks great with no damage. When I peeled the covering off of the double sided tape and tried to apply it to my hood, it wouldn't stick. I wound up taking it to a body shop and had them put it on just to make sure that I didn't mess anything up. As you can see from the photos, the scoop looks really nice on my car which is a 2011 chrysler 200. I was worried it wasn't big enough for my car and might get lost on my hood but as you can see, I'm happy to say, I was totally wrong. 👌

It looks very cool and easy to mount on FLAT SURFACE ONLY. The glue melted and ran out onto my hood. I tried wiping off with many products. What a mess! The daytime sun 80-90 degrees melted the glue. Terrible and no one to hold accountable cause it is Amazon!

This product is a nice hood scoop that adheres well to a vehicle. It is acceptable in its black finish, but looked much more authentic when painted the same color as my truck.

Purchased this to put on the hood of my car, but ended up putting it on my sons car instead as it didn’t exactly look good on mine. Very good quality and adhesive is excellent, looks good and will last longer than the car itself will.

Product is made of fairly cheap plastic, and arrived (albeit very quickly as promised) with the edge of the vent screen already broken away from plastic molding. Also, since there is not any sort of lip around the edge, you will be required to rely upon the ultra thin strip of tape to secure in place, as trying to apply with epoxy would be a messy option. If you have a friend with a body shop, I would recommend using, as the surface preparation is key (serious alcohol cleaning so tape can stick) and ambient temperature needs to be above 70*. Also use them to help with accurate placement/allignment, as once stuck on your hood, any mistake can be costly.

Made my car run so much cleaner, no more sputters or pinging. Added at least 50hp and everywhere i go panties are dropping for my race Hyundai. Sorry ladies, this bad boy is taken Update: 3/14/19, scoop is still secure AF. Had to hire a full time security guard to keep my fans off my property. TMZ won’t stop calling me so i blocked their number. I love the hood scoop but it is getting me too much unwanted attention. Dale Earnhardt jr. even keeps bugging me asking if he can go for a ride in my whip. I self tapped on some sweet front splitters, hot glued on some side vents and rattle canned my rims gold and now I can’t even sleep at night. Thinking about selling my masterpiece and getting something less eye catching like a new lambo or a gt400

Must admit the look of a real hood air vent scoop is quite convincing. But there is a MAJOR problem. This hood attachment (cosmetic) piece is designed so that the front grill opening actually opens to the incoming air as the car drives at highway speed. The air is then forced under the plastic scoop and depending on the speed at which you are driving, that very powerful air force wants to life the scoop off the hood and fling it directly at the driver's windshield. GO MORE THAN 35 mph and that piece of plastic is going to tear off the hood of the car. The adhesive and the amount of surface with adhesive on it that is used to hold the plastic piece to the hood is a very thin rim on the outside diameter, no more that a 1/4 of an inch so the adhesive surface is very small. The grill opening in the front should be solid so the rushing air can't get inside and under the body as it does as it is now designed. That air force will lift the scoop off the hood. If the bottom were solid and that entire surface contained adhesive so there would be much more surface area to glue to the car's hood, PERHAPS the unit could withstand highway air pressure speeds, but the little thin edge of the perimeter of the plastic that is used now is not nearly enough to make it safe on the highway. I believe this unit is UNSAFE at highway speeds and the description should carry that warning. In most states it probably wouldn't be allowed to be attached to cars.
