Velleman MK151 Digital LED Clock, multicolored

This is a great little kit for the money. Quality of the components is good and there are plenty of components to make it an interesting project to build. Instructions are OK and soldering most of the components is pretty straightforward. The most challenging components are the four individual numeric display modules. Each of these have many pins that are close together. However I had no problems making this clock, worked first time. I have it powered using a 9V mains adapter and it keeps good time without making any adjustments using the onboard variable capacitor. Comes in a neat looking box to finish off the project. I recommend this project as it's something useful that looks OK to have on display.

Great little kit. I bought 2 of these and the child and I have been working our way through themand having fun.I didn’t realise when ordering that the kit comes with a rather nice case for the clock!It should be noted that for the clock to run accurately it needs a 9v - 12v ac/dc power supply. It can run on batteries, but won’t be as accurate, apparently.As a few people have mentioned the kit comes with a 6.8pF capacitor instead of the 5pF one indicated on the instructions. I spoke to Velleman customer services and they confirmed that it’s a misprint on the instructions, and you should use the 6.8pF capacity included.

Excellent beginning solder project.Plenty to solder. Be careful of the direction of the diodes.Instructions are picture, could be easier with a few more words.
