Works as advertised
Needed for my Lian Li 216 which requires 2 of the large USB ports on the mobo.

High quality converter.
The quality of USB converter and splitters is very hit or miss in my experience. These get the job done, no issues reading USB devices. That’s one issue you can run into with cables of the same type. The other issue tends to be overall quality of the cable itself. Some tend to be quite flimsy especially the USB2.0 connectors. This cable is extremely high quality and if I were to need one again, I would go with this.

Used this on Liam Li 216
Bought the extra RBG controller for my Lian Li 216 case and my board X870 Auros Elite only has one USB 3.0 front panel header.I didn’t want to split the one USB 3.0 header. Seeing as there were 2 empty USB 2.0 Front Panel headers. I picked up this adapter and plugged the extra 30 pin USB 3.0 into it. Works great. Obviously I don’t get USB 3.0, but USB 2.0 works great and I now have access to 2 more USB ports.

USB 2 to USB 3 adapter works fine, but I should have got an M.2 USB 3.0 board
So, I have two pairs of USB 3 ports on the front of my case. But only one USB 3 port on my motherboard. This adapter allows me to use both pairs of USB 3 ports on my case. But, that only gives me one pair of USB 3 and one pair of USB 2 ports. It works, and would suffice 99% of the time. But I’d rather have all USB 3 ports. After buying this, I found that there is such a thing as a USB 3 M.2 card and only costs a few dollars more than this adapter. My motherboard has four M.2 slots so I have spare. I didn’t know that existed when I bought this cable. Again, this works fine but you only get USB 2 ports.

This adapter is essential in tight, strange situations
I was looking for this right angle adapter for years and just recently found it. In my situation, I have a mini-atx case that I got from frys electronics over a decade ago, a silverstone tj08-e. The motherboard is upside down and the drive bay actually squeezes against the front panel header cable. The 3rd pic is the old front panel cable; no, I've chose not to push the drive bay in there again to show you what a bad design that is. The 2nd pic is the adapter now installed. The 1st pic shows the adapter with drive bay in; see how nice it looks? That's the way it's supposed to be. My only gripe is there is not a positive locking mechanism between adapter and old header cable - and I did find the connection loose one time, but I'll just glue or tape it together next time.

Now my Case has 4 functioning USB ports
HAd to get it, my case came with 4 usb ports and my motherboard only permitted me fill 2. this adapter lets me have all 4 usb ports populated at the top of my case.

Does it's job, who can ask for more?
I had too many USB 3 ports on my case without enough headers on the motherboard for them all. I did however have extra USB 2 headers. Just plug the USB 2 end into the motherboard, and the USB 3 end into the cord from the case, and you're in business. This worked perfectly to allow all of my USB ports to function, even if some of them are only at USB 2 speed.
