Pump Up The Volume: Music From The Soundtrack

This was one of those great teen angst films of the 90s. The songs brought me back to when this film spoke to me. I had this in cassette once. It has two versions of "Everybody Knows" to include the slower blues version. There are also a lot of that early grunge-type rock without the moodiness. There is also that song by the Pixies "Wave of Mutilation" that is now in the Rock Band video game and "Southland Tales" by Richard Kelly. All in all, if you loved the movie, you'll relive it with the soundtrack, but if not, then it all depends on if you can vibe with the early 90's music.

Ahh love in the 90's. Is there anything as angsty and grand? The 80's seemed so much brighter and sunshinier.Anyway, this soundtrack is the only way to get "Why cant I fall in love" by Ivan Neville. And frankly that alone makes it worth the purchase. Why the heck Leonard Cohen's version of "Everybody know's" isnt on here is baffling thou. Because it's pretty present in the movie. Concrete Blonde's cover is ok..and probably would be better if not held up against Cohen's.The CD is good. Deliciously dark and angsty and a suitable companion to the movie.

Love this movie ... Could almost recite entire dialogue. Really meant to be a teen movie, but I am over 40. It's for those of us searching for a voice in the darkness helping us on our journey through life. And realizing that voice maybe our own. There's also a side element that we wish what we say is valued by others, that we can influence others, as well. Buy this, don't rent it.

Absolutely, the greatest soundtrack of Angst for anyone's collection.

Paul Westerberg and ATL on the same disc! "Freedom of Speech" is the best Rap tune, in my humble opinion.

Not accurate sound track, the sons I was looking for was performed by another artist. Very disappointed.

Was soll ich sagen, ich habe den "Soundtrack" wegen genau einem Lied gekauft:"Everybody knows" von Leonhard CohenGut, ich muss zugeben, ich hätte mir die Beschreibung genauer durchlesen können, aber ganz im Ernst, wenn man "Soundtrack" liest, komme zumindest ich nicht auf die Idee, dass dann nur eine Coverversion von irgend so einer 2. klassigen Band - auch noch mit einer Frau als Sängerin - auf der CD ist.Eine wirklich schwache Leistung von MCA. Schande über euch!Wenigstens Ivan Neville "Why Can't I Fall in Love" ist im Original drauf, des halb dann gerade noch 2 Sterne.

Good, but disappointing because not all of the tunes from the movie are on the CD. Boo hoo!:>(

I love this soundtrack more than I love myself

I love this movie so much that I brought the soundtrack this has some amazing bands sound garden, henry rollins and more a must for the music collectors.
