This mortar is the best I've seen so far. Exactly what I was looking for. I shopped around here initially, didn't find anything. Went to ebay, got something but when I received it, it was too shallow and wide so was unfit for purpose, I returned it and came back here. I changed around the keywords I was using in the search box and fortunately, this came up. I was so thrilled once I saw it. This product is so deep. No chance of anything flying out of it whilst u pound. And it's heavy too, the pestle too. So whatever u put in there will be crushed in seconds. And it's not slippery too, which I like. Cos when it's slippery, it defeats the purpose doesn't it? Cos then everything starts flying out of it. Yes it was costly but for me, it was worth every penny. I won't be buying this in a very long time. Remember, this item is heavy. I can barely lift it with one hand so this item is not for the feeble or weak. Not even for the teenagers to handle, in my opinion. It's heavy. It will cause injury if it falls on anybody's foot or toes. Functionality is 100%. Ease of use 90% cos it's heavy. It obviously looks good. Very well designed. I love it! Very sturdy too.

Brilliant value from Amazon. My wife wanted it but the price was high until I seen it on amazon. It’s a good product and well made. It looks good on the eye in the kitchen. It’s heavy and preformed well.

Such an amazing mortar and pestle! The first one I ordered came damaged but amazon was quick to issue a free replacement as always. Ive used this for loads of different things ( grinding spices, making pesto, making sauces) and it does the job perfectly. It's quite heavy which makes it a bit harder to clean but definitely worth the quality.

I've used this a few times now and its amazing how food changes flavour when grinded in this versus a grinder. I dislike how the pestle isn't as round, its more oval with the rough area split in the centre of that so if you try and grind it down, its quite difficult given the mortar's roundness and the pestle being oval. Overall its a very good product, sturdy and thick, but I wouldn't but it again because of the pestle. In hindsight I should have gone with the Jamie Oliver one.

Great size for making a quantity of paste to store. First one I received broke on its second use (Amazon swapped it out without issue). I suspect it is a design issue with the pestle. The very wide end for grinding is great, but puts strain on the narrow handle. Just make sure to use the other end for pulverising. Its a lovely stylish finish, so I chose to replace rather than get a refund which probably tells the whole story.

The mortar and pestle was the correct size so I can make coconut Sambol. The item was as per description and good quality

This is the biggest one I have ever had and I'm sure it will last for years as it is sturdy and heavy, although not as heavy or as big as I imagined going from the reviews on here. It is very nice to look at and not to shiny with plenty of depth to allow a good bashing without splashing it everywhere. highly recommend it.

e molto bello e la taglia va bene per uso normale. io volevo uno grande ma non ce che quello Thai mortar and pestle 9 inches che per portarlo in italia ce vuole 60 euor. allora ho comporato questo e penso che va bene. molto fatto bene solo che il pestello mi sembra legero.

Mooi, goed, zwaar, goed diep

Es un mortero bastante grande y que muele muy bien. Dudaba en comprar este o el de un tamaño mas pequeño pero había oído a algún cocinero en la televisión que si se puede tener uno grande siempre será mas útil que uno pequeño y la verdad creo que tiene toda la razón. Además es bastante bonito así que se puede dejar a la vista como adorno de la cocina.

Havanelinin kendisi ağır olduğu için sizin ayrıca çokça kuvvet uygulamanıza gerek kalmadan sarımsaklar rahatlıkla havanelinin ağırlığı sayesinde eziliyor. Havanın içi pürüzlü bir yüzey olduğundan, ezeceğiniz sarımsaklar kaymıyor, fırlamıyor, hoplamıyor. Bu sebeplerle bence çok kullanışlı bir ürün. Tek sakıncası; ağır mutfak malzemeleri kullanmaya alışkın olmayan ya da ağır kaldıramayan kişiler için havanın yıkanmasının zor olabilmesi.
