EDIT: I’ve used this now for a couple of weeks and it is wonderful! Once I figured out how to put the weather stripping tape on that the product provided for any gaps I’ve noticed this is the coolest my AC has ever made ANY of my apartments! Aside from the vague instructions it’s pretty easy to piece it together for the most part. I didn’t have to tape my hose like I thought I would with how cool my place is and I haven’t noticed any escaped heat. Would definitely recommend! Changed to 5 stars for it’s performanceI just got this and am working on putting it together. The listing does not mention that it also includes weather stripping v tape (which I had to figure out what the tape was via google image search). As you can see in the photo not all of the window is sealed and I think it’s interesting that they give you the stripping tape without telling you… but it’s still pretty dang good and not much is showing. The fit is awesome, Ive never been able to find a vent kit that is adjustable like this and had the universal hose coupler. I have a 5.9 inch and at first I thought it wasn’t going to fit but after twisting it like a cap a little bit I was able to get it on. There are still some very small gaps in that as well BUT I think that can be easily adjusted and fixed. The instructions are kind of clear but also don’t mention the tape at all which is what really threw me off. Once I use this more and have it fully installed I’ll update the review to see how well it does. Giving it 4 stars for now because of the frustrations of them not even mentioning that they give you weather stripping tape or how to use it.

We were gifted an older hisense standing room air conditioner, our window, when open, leaves a large vertical opening (48 inches high) this kit easily spanned the window opening and does seem secure with the window closed back on it, but I wish it had better weatherstipping on the edges of the kit--a compressible foam or something, as there are tiny gaps between window frame and the kit in some areas.. thankfully I Have a screen on that window so I Don't have to worry about bugs getting in but I would prefer that there was no extra heat seeping in. That said, for the price I'm happy! Also I found it strange that the kit came with a roll of some clear plastic/silicone --i guess maybe weather stripping? it looks like a sweep that goes under a shower door.. but no instructions on how to use it.. not even when I followed the "additional instructions" link that the seller emailed me after my purchase.. Another consideration is that if you do not have a screen on your window this is venting out of , there is no screen over the exhaust hole.. so animals/birds/bugs could theoretically enter the unit from the 5 inch diameter hole... you may want to figure out a way to secure that from happening if you buy this product and don't have a screen on your window

I read this is a high return item. After setting it up, could understand why. It’s not difficult, but it’s not easy either. That said, it fit my needs. 58” tall window was too big for my original part. The hose adapter is the tricky part, took a few times for it to work with wide hose. The materials are otherwise solid fit. I used a 1/4” weatherstripping around the panel and it works great.
