Excellent pond pump and filter
So pleased with this pond pump and filter. Firstly it arrived super quick, it arrived the day after ordering even though it wasn’t supposed to. Our pond has been green and murky for the last two summers and we couldn’t see the fish unless they were right at the top. Within less than a week we can see to the bottom. The difference is incredible especially as our pond is about 6000 lts , so at the top end of the recommended size. We thought the instructions were poor but it’s easy to set up anyway. There is a temperature gauge and a time to clean it gauge but this aren’t mentioned in the instructions. I haven’t marked it down for that because it’s been so impressive and has exceeded expectations. I highly recommend it. Final thing to add, it says recommended cleaning is every three to four weeks. We have cleaned it three times in the first week as our pond was so dirty and the filters were absolutely filthy.

Good filter box for Pond!
For anyone looking to connect pipework to the filter outlet to divert the flow, I have purchased one of these... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005IW8V92?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details And confirm that it fits the 50mm outlet perfectly and allows you to add 40mm SOLVENT WELD pipe to the outlet. I imagine 40mm push fit would work but it has a slightly smaller external diameter I purchased the BF-6000 (filter only) to use as a secondary filter to my main filter. My main filter (a Blagdon Clean Pond Machine) already has a UV steriliser but not very good mechanical filtration (great Biological filter though). I wanted to try the BF-6000 as a relatively cheap mechanical filter to supliment my other filter which outputs to a waterfall. The main filter has a valve on it to divert the flow to waste for cleaning - this was a handy connection to tap into to feed the BF6000 and setting this to mid-position, feeds the waterfall and BF6000, allowing me to control the flow rate to the box filter. This works very well and the BF-6000 showed it's woth in a few hour of running, pulling out a considerable amount of suspended solids. It's also easy to clean the foam filters, they just slide out. This was an experiment for me and works very well. Recommended product.

Fantastic pump, UV & Filter however..
Bit of overkill for my pond but it makes the water crystal clear, the pump is strong and the UV & filter works extremely well… however the outlet isnt threaded so requires 50mm hose which is worthless when you have a pond on the smaller side, many accessories are not included in this kit which is sold as a “full kit” also maybe a bit out of scope but the website is a nightmare to navigate in order to purchase additional accessories and the help chat have sold me the wrong part, i was looking for a stepper to go from the 50mm outlet to 20mm for a waterfall & was sold a stepper for the inlet £7 isn’t the end of the world but to get from 50mm to 20mm is an absolute nightmare. All in all good filter however its lacking accessories even in the full kit this maybe just for me personally however thought i would share

Great clarity of our pond water now
Excellent. We had to replace our old one as the UV holder was corroded and broken. Clearly by the clarity of the water now even without the UV it obviously wasn't working well.

Notice the difference in just a few hours
Only put this in a few hours ago, but felt compelled to comment so soon. I inherited the pond with the house, it is only 12x6ft x2deep, with 20 or so fish and a few plants. This set may be on the large side for that size pond. But rather too much than not enough. The last filter was homemade so decided not to try and work it out. But within just a few hours the water is so much clearer already. The UV light inspection hole is useful. The water temp and dirty water indicators really useful. No idea on the cleaning of it yet, hence the lower marks. But does not look that difficult. Easy to get to all parts. The instructions are not brilliant if a novice. Still not sure the lid is on the right way round, or even if it matters. But I assume it's right as it's working well. No info on the dirty water indicator also (it's when it's at the top it is dirty) Little things, but something in the instructions would be good. The only real negative is the outlet pipe is only 2 inches or so. It pours a good 6 inches and at a good rate (pump on max). So needs to sit next to the pond. We want ours directed to a waterfall, so I need to get a pipe reducer to go on to this to enable me to use other piping. But no biggie. My mistake expecting something for that end. good price and good at doing what it's meant to. Although, just a few hours; assuming it carries on working, a dam good buy.: UPDATE: cleaning was fun! the filters come out real easy and easy to clean, however, which way the filters go back in is a mystery. Nothing anywhere hows that way the opening should be. The installation manual is pointless as it just says replace them, and the diagram that shows the flow does not indicate which way they should go. I have tried each in every place, yet it constantly says it's dirty yet the water is crystal clear. So it works and is really good. But yet another issue with instruction/installation guides being rubbish. Which seems to be a common issue nowadays. Better off saving paper and not include them for what they are worth.

Spot on
Easy set up and working well

Good for the cost
Pump rate not as fast as I thought it may be was hoping more suited to a waterfall but not fast enough, it does appear to do a good job of filtering the water

Filter box.
Bought this for my sister and installed it. Running well. The Koi have disturbed the plants and there is sediment in the suspension. Put the pump on bricks, so not sitting on the bottom and the air-stones in the pool started working. It has now been running 4 days and the pond does not look cleaner, but part of that I suspect is the return water stirring up the soil, so I think it will take some time. I have no idea if the UV light is working, I hope it is?? But there is no window to check, design fault? The unit has now been working since July 2019 less than 3 months. The yellow filter inside the box needs replacing as it has started to disintegrate into the water, and today the pump stopped working. New fuse fitted and a flash and bang. The pump is knackered and needs replacing. Although initially please I cannot now recommend this unit. Am I just unlucky? Tow problems in less than 3 months? I was concerned with regard to overflowing or flooding from the box but it appears to cope on full power with the pump supplied. I don't know if this will become an issue given comments left by other buyers when the filters become clogged?
