The 23 cm oval hot plate is about slightly bigger compared to my Samsung A03s phone (roughly 6.5 × 3 inches), so it doesn’t take up much space on the table. It feels solid and well-made, and the black enamel looks elegant. But not too heavy for cleaning, easy enough to handle at the sink. The delivery was even faster than scheduled, and the product arrived in perfect condition: no cracks, no chips, despite its hefty price tag. Speaking of which, I paid £79.5, a bargain compared to the regular retail price of £139 at Zwilling UK. Perfect for me living alone, since the size is just right for small roasts, side dishes, or one-person meals. I’m really happy with this purchase.

No issues seems high quality

The size of this 20cm dish appealed to me immensely. It is the ideal size to experiment with ideas, or if you are alone and do not have to heave out bigger pots, pans, or dishes. The oval shape allows for versatile cooking options, whether I am braising, grilling vegetables, roasting, or baking a casserole. The cast iron construction ensures even heat distribution, resulting in perfectly cooked dishes every time. However, it's worth mentioning that the handles could be improved, especially for those with dexterity issues. The handles may pose a danger, especially when the hot plate is heavy with food. Consider using oven mitts or pot holders for added safety. Why Staub didn't use tradition handles that offer greater grip is beyond me. Overall, I would recommend the STAUB Oval Hot Plate if you can live with the handle afterthought. It's a versatile and well-made piece of cookware that will surely become a staple in your kitchen, with a caveat to handle the hot plate with care.
