Great buy
Easy set up and easy to use. The plugs were also nice to help maintain the correct humidity level for our mushrooms. I think this was also be great a a seed starter or mini greenhouse.

Seems like a nice mushroom growing kit
Seems like a nice mushroom growing kit. It arrived with all the pieces as advertised. It seems well made and look forward to growing mushrooms. I haven't used it yet and will update this review if there are any issues.

A good starter monotub, but maybe not for serious mycologists.
Overall, I think this is a good monotub. I like that it is light weight, portable, and can be folded down (with some disassembly) when not in use.For those new to growing mushrooms, it will be a perfectly suitable monotub as you learn the ins and outs of growing your own mushrooms. The included vents offer both plugs and filters to control airflow and humidity as you move from promoting mycelium growth to fruiting and harvesting. It does not come with any instructions - other than assembly - so if you're unfamiliar with the process of growing mushrooms, you'll need to look elsewhere for resources and instructions.Where seasoned mycologists might draw some issue is with two aspects of the design. First, the inner frame, while easy to assemble, creates additional nooks, crannies, ridges, and seams where stray spores, molds, and bacteria can collect. This means you will have to be much more thorough with your sterilization when introducing your mycelium to your substrate. It would be a much better design if the kit used an exoframe to limit the potential for cross-contamination during the early stages of growth. The other potential issue is with the zipper used to seal the tub. The zipper, itself, does not create a fully air tight seam and a small gap is present where the two zipper pulls meet. Again, this creates the potential for contamination and humidity loss, even if ever so slight. Serious mycologists tend to be hyper-particular about their sterilization techniques and controlling humidity with many strains is super critical, so both of these issues would need to be addressed when attempting to grow delicate or advanced strains of mushrooms where controlling the internal grow environment is essential. But, again, for beginner use - particularly with the common pre-inoculated grow blocks and boxes you can find on Amazon, this monotub will work perfectly fine. More advanced mycologists will likely want something a little more air tight to start and for those who might be thinking of using this in conjunction with a Mella grow chamber, note that it unfortunately doesn't fit inside the Mella due to the Mella's angled front lid.
