Holds reeds securely, and keeps them nice and flat!
I've had these since they were made by by La Voz, and they work very well. In general- they are compact, easy to use, and keep the reed against a flat surface as it dries out. Generally this prevents the reed from warping, especially over the box-type reed holder. Also helps to reduce the clutter that ends up in the typical case. Only downsides are in the case of mis-use- if you get the angle wrong and don't pay attention when putting the reed back in, it will wreck the reed in short order! Also, the Rico produced ones seem to be a little tighter, which in the case of using it for Alto Sax reeds, results in the last 3-4 mm of reed sticking out of the back of the holder. While this is not the doing-stuff end of the reed, if you get a knock on the back of the reed (from a carelessly unrestrained lyre for example..... don't ask) then it will not sit flat when held against the reed table. In 15 years of owning La Voz, and 4 of owning Rico, I've yet to have one break! Overall, very good, and I would highly recommend them!

You need one of these!
Indispensable for the preservation of your reeds whether cane or synthetic. Used them for many years and would not want to be without one - or several

A bit uptight
I'm afraid I must agree with Leehster about this otherwise excellent product. It is difficult to damn near impossible to remove a reed from one of the four pockets on the model I received today. The other three seem perfectly ok so I guess it is down to lack of quality control by Rico.I have an old Vandoren 'cigar case' type of reed guard that holds four reeds, has a replaceable humidity control insert and, with the 'lid' slid on, completely covers the reeds which are gripped firmly - not aggressively. I don't think Vandoren make this case any more, alas, (if they do I'll snap another up) - it was doubtless too good and too cheap for the current market which likes to charge silly money for 'hi-tech' cases. However, I must congratulate the seller - themusicsaver - for superfast delivery and better than the cheapest Ebay price - £3.88 inc postage! Having given this matter some thought while writing this short review, it crossed my mind that a tenor case might be a better option - being slightly longer so that you would not have to push the reed fully home... hmm? Might try it.

Very good.
Notice it is for Tenor or Baritone! It was delivered very quickly, came before other items I'd ordered prior to this. It holds four reeds, that should be enough for most people, but I suppose you could always buy two..? The reed holder applies constant pressure to the very tip of each reed to stop it from warping, and allows saliva to drain from it easily.

No possible complaint.
This product is almost mandatory if you have a tenor or baritone sax; It takes care of four of your reeds. They delivered it very quickly and in good packaging. There is nothing they could have dome to make this easier for me. Thanks
