The lathe chuck works great for a hobbiest woodworker but is not a precision tool. I would recomend to a hobby woodworker. Great product for small turning projects.

Does the trick for less … holds tight … no complaints used for over a year now

I've been using the heck out of this, swapping jaws and clamping heavy pieces of green wood. Jaws are easy to change, but the dovetails on the jaws aren't very aggressive. If you clamp down good and hard they hold as long as you cut the proper taper in. I wish I had two so I didn't have to swap jaws. After two dozen or so bowls these appear to be grabbing tight and continuing to work well

I'm impressed with this chuck. I mainly bought it for the large jaws and it's been working great and the runout is good too. The only thing I think they could improve on is the gripping surface on the inside of the small jaws is very smooth with no dovetail. I took some coarse sandpaper and roughed it up and it worked fine. I would definitely recommend this chuck.

Well built and solid. Definitely holds your work in place. Included screw chuck is a nice bonus. Have completed several project using this chuck. I never worry about my work flying off. Just make sure to tighten your work periodically as wood shrinks. Will definitely recommend this chuck.

Superb bit of kit every one needs

As my "first chuck" it does exactly what I wanted, and at a much lower price than other brands. It runs straight, stays tight, and comes with two sets of jaws. And it arrives well packaged too. I'm very happy with it.

I have only used it a handful of times so far but I love it. It holds the wood extremely well and is easy to work with. I will not use the original chuck any more.

I have three Nova chucks that are set with the large, medium and small standard jaws that I've been using but there is a gap in size that isn't covered in the transition between the different size jaws which means a few times I've had to resize a piece because it was too small to fit in one but too big to fit in the next one down. What I like about this chuck is that it is slightly larger than the Novas and has a greater range of adjustment. I used it to replace the Nova with the medium jaws and now I don't have to be as fussy about sizing my tenons. The chuck runs very true and has a good grip.
