I bought this for my daughter and she’s in love with it. The packaging was secure and protected. The unit itself went together fairly easily. Typical telescope assembly with multiple small wing nuts and washers to locate. But I had it up and running in ten minutes or so. The quality of the build is great. We zeroed it in on the moon although the instructions say to use Polaris since it’s an equatorial scope, my location didn’t permit that at the time. The optics were stunning however. My daughter zeroed in on the sea of tranquility (according to her account, using the included lunar map). The beginners guide to using the telescope book and the star chart were not included in my package, but a quick email through the Amazon app and Orion sent it next day UPS to me. So far I feel like we’ve gotten our money’s worth from the build quality and optics. The customer service seems to be very top notch as well. If you’re on the fence looking at all the beginner options out there, I wouldn’t hesitate to grab this one. It’s a solid buy

I bought this for my son for Christmas and he loves it. It’s sturdy and has just the right amount of bells and whistles without being overkill. The magnification is great. You can actually see the craters in the moon. This is a perfect gift for the amateur sky gazer.

Is a nice bundle for the price... will update this rating in future if I need to but so far... was packed really well when arrived was only a day late in these times I'm not worried about that... all parts and pieces was there, manual was little confusing on setting up but there is great videos from Orion that makes it a breeze... didnt take long at all...a gift for my son when he comes home for christmas so will update after the process of seeing how it does.so far can't beat it!!

We purchased this for my son's 18th birthday. He had always wanted one. It came with everything needed to start. The observer's guide was entertaining and easy to read, making everything easier to figure out. He is now hooked, and so are our other children. He is looking to get a solar filter and a lunar filter now. Such a great price for so much!

I purchased four telescopes as Christmas presents for my Grandchildren. As Moms, Dads and Grandparents know, buying the same item for close in age children always cuts down on fights. I the following day received a telephone call from Orion to ensure that I hadn't made a error in ordering the four. The young lady was extremely friendly and equally polite. She explained all four would be shipped out. I had received only three, after waiting about ten days I called Orion has to when I'd receive the fourth telescope. I did not receive a clear answer except I would be receiving it. According to my order list this item was shipped out. I contacted Orion through Amazons contact the seller requesting help. A couple of weeks later I'm sitting waiting for a response. Wow, what a lasting impression Orion has made on me, initially, I honestly couldn't believe what a wonderful company I was dealing with. First impressions can kick you in your teeth. As for the other three telescopes they are a nice quality item, although the photograph on the shopping page gives the impression that the telescope has a metallic paint finish. It happens to be just a dark flat green color.

My son LOVES IT... he is 15. He was able to find Saturn and he showed me the rings... however it was really small, not lots of detail, but it is fun for him

Very easy to assemble with a video description on youtube step by step it took me less than an hour and it is very well explained. Very staisfied with the quality of the telescope :)
