I looked a long time for a quality knife set or knife block for a budget price. I've returned anything I bought because they looked too cheap. I had been looking for a magnetic knife holder and stumbled onto this one. I had actually been looking at this exact one for 2 months. It's not super expensive. It's far more affordable in comparison to other magnetic knife holders I've looked at. But I just wasn't ready to invest that kind of money.However, I certainly tried cheaper items - sets and solo blocks. They just didn't cut it. They looked and felt too cheap or would "crumble" (so to speak) just by removing the knives from the block. I was very worried I'd damage my knives. After a lot of research and returns, I finally revisited this magnetic holder.I finally purchased it. AND I'M RELIEVED AND ECSTATIC THAT I DID! My knife/knife holder search is finally over.I'm so excited for this holder. I already had these black-ish/gray-ish washed stainless steel knives that I've been wanting to showcase. Now I can. They're cheap and not a full set, but I love them. Ultimately, I'll get new ones. But for now, I love them. And, finally, this magnetic knife holder is of great quality so I feel proud and happy to have it out on my counter! Truly, this is worth the money. Know, too, that this is also fantastic quality for the price because, in comparison, it is not very expensive. It is also the perfect color I was looking for. I didn't see very many magnetic knife holders that were this color/black-washed color and had a shield. It looks incredible.It was worried it wouldn't fit my biggest knife, but it does perfectly.It should fit 6 knives.When you remove or replace a knife, it glides against the wood. It doesn't "crumble" like the cheap blocks did. I feel safer with the holder and my knives. It also holds firmly against the magnetic holder itself, so I feel zero concern about it falling, even with the shield.Overall, this is a quality holder. I'm ecstatic that this not only ends my search, but that what I've been looking at for 2 months is of true quality. It exceeds my expectations.The pictures I took really don't do it justice. It looks phenomenal in person.

Better than any knife block I’ve ever had. No problem holding the knives, and great to be able to see them.

I bought this to replace the clunky knife block that was taking up room on my counter. I like the slim design and it holds 6 of my medium to large knives. It saves room on my counter too!

It’s really nice and no cosmetic issues. But I returned it because it was too tall to have it under the cabinets, it’s made it difficult to pull the knives out.

This is my second smith bros knife block as we just upgraded to the larger size. This is a very aesthetically pleasing and functional block. It has a small footprint compared to the traditional angled wood block style. The acrylic shield allows you to see the knife blade but is much safer than the wall mounted magnetic holders because there is no way to accidentally knock the knife down. It’s easy to clean - I just unscrew the shields to hand wash & dry and I oil the wood once or twice per year. The first one we had still looks new. We are very happy with this purchase.

I purchased a Schmidt set in black that I was very impressed with, so I decided to buy this magnetic block and a steak knife set (that was sold separately). Once again I’m not disappointed. It looks great. Solid build. Came very well protected so there were no scratches or anything. Knives don’t move or slant. Comes prebuilt. Highly recommend!

This knife holder is just what I wanted! It is clean and modern and takes up much less counter space than the knife block it replaced! It holds all the knives from the old knife block - much more than I thought it would hold. It is easy to use and looks great, and I can see that it is clean inside and out. Wish I had found this years ago!
