Tetra AlguMin - Quickly Combats All Types Of Algae In The Aquarium, Prevents The Growth Of New Algae, 100 ml

It does work, but not right away, after about a week of using it i started to see my tank was lookibg cleaner, now i use it once a month in addition to water changes and its helped so much

“Good at tackling algae, but requires patience and good tank habits.” I’ve used Tetra AlguMin several times in my freshwater aquarium. It’s very easy to dose — just measure 5 ml per 10 litres — and it disperses quickly without clouding the water. Within a few days I noticed most green algae on the glass and decorations starting to die off, and after a week or so the tank looked noticeably cleaner. That said, it’s not a magic bullet. Black beard algae and some stubborn blue-green patches didn’t disappear completely after the first dose. I also had to manually remove dead algae and make sure my filter and aeration were running well, otherwise oxygen levels dipped a little. Overall, AlguMin is a good product to control light to moderate algae growth if you combine it with proper maintenance (water changes, balanced lighting and feeding). I’d recommend it as part of a broader algae-management plan rather than a one-time cure.

Bit early to say yet, awaiting results..but it has certainly slowed down the growth of hair algae, albeit not a huge problem in my aquarium, just unsightly. I'm sure it will do the job 👍

Very effective. Please note : When I used it, it worked slowly but ruthlessly over about a week. It will not kill all algae over night! (Some reviews on here down voted it for that) Recommendation: if you notice your fish acting weirdly (mine were congregating in a weird fishy group in the middle of the tank (super odd)), then there is not enough airation in the water ----> add more air stones asap! I don't quite know how the algae killer works but I think it reduces oxygen in the water (according to Google). I added another air pump with two air stones temporarily and ordered a new more powerful £15 air pump that honestly was actually designed for my tank size 😓, it's awesome. Took out old 2 air pumps with their air stones as no longer needed. In conclusion: Have lost 0 fish. Have killed approx 98% of all algae. Worked slowly over a week. Make sure air pump and air stones are strong and spread out. Bish bash bosh - babye algae!!

I can’t say I’ve found it’s killed much algae but I have noticed a decrease in the amount that’s in my tank. My fish have responded well to it as long as you follow the instructions. Can’t blame the product fully there’s probably a bit of user error.

Have been getting a lot of persistent red slime algae in the fish tank and just a capful of this solution helps me keep the algae in check. I add this to the tank every time I do a water change. There are clear instructions on dosage on the back of the bottle and you can adjust it as per the size of your tank. I only use a capful for my tank making it cost effective. Also It has never had an adverse effect on my fish's health and it is shrimp-friendly too which is the most important thing for me. My fish are happy after using this product. Overall, this is an effective solution to get rid of red algae and keep the water looking crystal clear for weeks.

I’m a bit wary of algicides and have never had a good result before. However my terrapin got an unexpected and aggressive bloom in his tank over the new year so I thought I’d give this a go. My first reaction was how small the bottle was! Ok obvs I didn’t read the description properly. However, after taking a few measurements to calculate the water volume (the tank is only ever around half full) I used a shot glass to measure the dose and poured it into the stream of the most powerful filter pump I have. By the following morning most of the floating bubbly stuff had gone. Two days on and nearly all the waterborne stuff has gone. I have honestly never found a chemical before that works so efficiently, my terrapin is completely happy and despite being in winter hibernation mode took a small feed yesterday now he can see it floating. I definitely recommend this product and wish I’d taken before and after pics to show you!
