The Jade 43 is just what you need for that extra push. Using materials that reduce the environmental impact, a dynamic FreeFloat suspension, and an athletic look and feel, this pack helps you go the extra mile. Review: Great upgrade. - I had an earlier version of this same pack. I needed to update due to hurricane damage etc. this pack feels great. Same great compartments etc. but the fit is so much better Review: Came broken. Then broke some more - Came broken. Pocket was ripped. Clip also broke when adjusting on first day

Defects with original and replacement packs
Gregory is my favorite brand of backpacks, but for some reason this 43L off the Amazon is having defects. The first one i got had an issue with the top handle which snapped the very first time I loaded the pack for a trip, so had to switch packs. The replacement had an issue with the clip for the chest strap that snapped on first use. I'll reorder this pack from REI or directly from Gregory and see if there are issues with that batch. Otherwise and awesome product.

Best one!
I just wore this 28 L Gregory size Xs/S for 3 weeks hiking in Portugal about 30 km daily. I am still amazed from this experience when carying it for xx hours and not feeling a bit. Easy to adjust when going to steep hills. Comfortible around the waist, hugging on hips. To me it was a best purchase. 5 stars!

Unintuitive, and Plastic Clamp Broke quickly
Let me first say that years ago, I wore a Gregory backpack through Europe and it was fantastic. So when I needed a new backpack for classes, I bought a Gregory Jade 43. After first wearing, I felt it was half-assed thrown together. 1. the plastic chest strap Clamp BROKE IN HALF. 2. this backpack isn't intuitive. While walking, the upper part of the pack hung loosely off my back. I groped around, hunting for the appropriate straps to tighten the top snugly against my back. But there are were many dangling straps, and I couldn't quickly find the right ones to pull. Finally, I had to stop walking, go into a corner, and yank straps till I found the correct ones. Once I finally found the right straps I pulled as far as they would go, but they only helped a. little. The top of the backpack STILL hung out from my back. 3. The handle to carry the bag is hard to find, and frequently impossible to access because it is STUPIDLY under the top bag. 4. Also, while packing in supplies, I did not like the compartment configuration. It seemed crude and not planned as well. 5. Finally, it's just not that pleasant to wear.

Comfortable, well thought out
Sizing was tricky but pack is light, comfortable, and love that you can access through front zip or top. Mesh front is great and lighter than comparable packs. Picked an 38L for multi day hut to hut with minimal gear. Another Gregory win!
