Get the handbook... there is something for everyone.
Reading "The Instructional Coaching Handbook" has been a true pleasure, so many useful and practical strategies to use while out on the field. With over 200 plus strategies, there is something for everyone, fromthe most experienced to the novice coach. Coaching is about creating trusting relationships, and the authors have accomplished just that between the reader and their written work. You are able to trust these strategies because it is for coaches by coaches sharing their gained wisdom from experiences they had along the way.One of the most interesting things, that stood out to me is how versatile this book is, guiding us with practical everyday experiences from PreK and onwards and yet still relatable regardless of which group of educators you are supporting. As an ECE coach with several sites spanning an area that is over 3,000 sqm. Coaching can often feel like a solitary experience, which often entails reflecting and decompressing in between each drive to the next site and trying to figure out if we used the right tools for the occasionNow, I feel that I have a coaching team at all times to bounce off ideas on the spot.Thank you for this wonderful handbook. I can't stress enough value of this book.NOW GO GET YOUR COPY!

A Masterpiece for Instructional Coaches
As a lead teacher at a brand new charter school, I have found this book to be a necessary tool as I continue to work with teachers and students. Assembling and training a whole new staff is no easy task, and this book has hundreds of practical strategies to help develop new teachers and rejuvenate seasoned teachers. I love the format of the book. While I read it cover to cover, it is easily used as a reference book because each chapter discusses a different area of coaching. I am currently using chapter 4, ("Coaching Social-Emotional Instruction") with a teacher who is having difficulty connecting with their students. The strategies are straightforward and accessible, and the application examples at the ends of the chapters provide real-world demonstrations of coaching in action. A. Keith Young, Angela Bell Julien, and Tamarra Osbourne have created a masterpiece for instructional coaches!

A Much Needed Resource from Coaches Who Have Done the Work!
I was so excited to finally receive this book! Having worked with two of the three authors, I can verify that these 200+ Strategies have been well-tested and proven to transform educator learning and beliefs. As I began reading I saw so many strategies I have used that I learned from these wonderful colleagues, but what I found the most important was how the text was designed! What a perfect tool for those of us in the field coaching educators. The stories illustrating the strategies provide evidence of what it looks, like, sounds like, and feels like when using many of the strategies. This book will be with me everywhere I coach. Thank you Angie, Keith and Tamara!

Awesome insights for almost all walks of life (not just coaching and teaching)
I have been teaching and coaching for 30+ years and find this book an excellent source of new ideas and reminders of techniques I have used in the past but have forgotten about. The book is well structured an indexed so specific topics are easy to find. I feel the enthusiasm that went into writing this book as well, as it is very uplifting and encouraging.

A Great Book for Educational Coaches, Facilitators and Mentors!
As the induction coordinator and mentor facilitator at my charter school for the past six years, this book and all it's useful strategies have added nicely to my repertoire. The ideas are a foundation for schools to use with new and seasoned teachers to help with onboarding, mentoring and induction. I believe the more support teachers get, the less chance of burnout and turnover. Over twenty years ago, I had the pleasure of working with Keith Young and even back then he was honing his craft of understanding coaching and mentoring teachers. This is a solid informational and helpful book!
