A welcomed more of the same!
An aging fan since 1977, I ordered this book in July and it arrived on release date of Tuesday the 5th.It wasn’t as thick as I had expected although I’m not sure why I expected that since it is not an “Ultimate” volume. However, it is a very good volume and I was particularly pleased how it was ordered with the Empire and the Dark Times shown in KENOBI and a nice breakdown in the World of Unrest (seen in ANDOR and REBELS (among others) including the Ryloth Resistance, Ferrix, Corporate Interests, Axis Network, the ISB, Saw Gerrera, Partisans, Rebel Cells, Lothal as well as in Chapter 4, the Criminal Underworld: of criminal syndicates, galactic criminals, smugglers with chapters 5 and 6 showing various ships, vehicles and equipment, carefully displayed as DK is so well known for and does such an excellent job. The two-page, snaking TIMELINE: Countdownto Civil War was very much appreciated and helped slot various incidents from Andor, Rogue 1, Rebels, Kenobi, etc. allowing a better overall picture of what is going on in these many series and seasons which at times can cause a little of “Wait, what era is this?’. Well-recommended for old and new fans alike.

Star Wars: Dawn of Rebellion: The Visual Guide [Hardcover]
Dawn of Rebellion is another one of the Star Wars visual guides. It is one of the books that I would categorize as a coffee table book, with as many pictures as it has text. The book mainly has character profiles of the main characters (from the movies, novels, animated series, and live-action series) who were around during the time period between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. It is updated to include the characters in the Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi series so it includes, for example, profiles of young Leia and Luke and the updated backstory of Cassian Andor. The hardcover version of the book is very short. The book totals just under 140 pages, but none of the pages are full of text. Some pages just have a picture and little to no text, and other pages have several pictures with text blurbs next to them so the book is very easy to read. There is also a timeline at the beginning of the book that shows the major events that occurred during the time period from the creation of the Empire to the Battle of Yavin. I think the book is good, but not really essential reading. It does, however, have some fine details that you may not have picked up from when watching the live-action material so if you are more than just a casual fan of Star Wars it is worth the time to look over.

Great overview of Star Wars technology and locations and backstory.
Some good details given in this publication suggest that care was taken in its making. Highly recommend.

This a beautiful book
This is full of obscure characters you will recognise if you enjoy the Star Wars E.U. The printing is the usual high quality & it includes the films & TV shows up to the Andor series. This is great if you want to know the back stories of minor characters from the books, comics, games, shows & movies. Although there are lots of pictures, it might not include enough detail for cosplay research. It is still a great companion for the more than casual fan.
