When you have a preteen trying to figure out how to exist in a sudden haze of hormones any help is welcome. These helped immensely for her periods. No leakage, they don't feel wet, "weird", or squishy when she's wearing them. (I asked despite knowing I was going to get get the "omg mom whyyyyyy" face) I do wash them in my machine on handwash, and I dry them on low. So far we haven't had any issues with that. They work and are comfy, so she's happy. Or like, as happy as a preteen goth gets.

My teen converted me to Thinx (and the whole concept of period underwear in general) because she wanted to try these. She loves them! No fussing with pads, no mess, she can wear one pair all day and another one all night. No leaks, no stains. They're pricey but totally worth it. Better than other brands I tried (now that I wear these too, in adult non-teen styles).

My daughter really felt confident going to her cheer clinical in these panties. She was able to maneuver around the gym and demonstrate her abilities with no stress. Her periods are light to normal and last about 5 days. These panties are very absorbent. I’m not sure how they would do with someone with heavier periods.

If your girl is having her first period ever this items will give her a peace of mind due to it thickness and comfort ability. They also are good for your very last days, assuming you are at home and you have peroxide at hand to clean any accidents 😉 (remember, peroxide help to erase the pink stain!)

Got this for my 12 yr old daughter as she just started her first period and this was more comfortable than pads. Her first day at school and she leaked everywhere! How embarrassing for her, she came home crying!
