Perfect drill
You can't go wrong with Dewalt in my opinion. The drill size is spot on and fits in your hand perfectly. The weight is great, light enough to do continued work and heavy enough to feel sturdy in your hands. The light is amazing, on the highest setting it's a flood light. The batteries have a light indicator which is awesome and charge very quick. The battery usage time is great and you can get hours worth of hard work out of a full battery. The drill looks the tits. I love the black and yellow combo which is Dewalts signature. All in all really happy with this drill and you too will not be disappointed.

A truly professional piece of kit at a very reasonable price.
This is an outstanding drill which I am reviewing having owned it since May 2025 and having used it frequently on various tasks and projects. The package of drill + 2 batteries + charger + excellent case is amazingly good value - many DeWalt drills are sold without battery or charger and those can often cost more than the bare drill. The drill is not heavy in the hand and a fully charged battery lasts a long time. It charges quickly. The drill is powerful and the chuck is easy to deal with. The light is bright. If you have never had a drill with a light you will wonder how you ever managed. Particularly impressive is the level of close control over drill speed - the best I have come across and it inspires complete confidence that driving in screws is always under total control. But all the power you could ever need is there if you need it for drilling masonry or metal. The whole thing exudes class and durability. No wonder that you will so often see DeWalt equipment on construction sites. Overall this is definitely the best drill I have owned - a truly professional piece of kit at a very reasonable price.

Great drill at a good price!
Just noticed that a well known tool supplier is asking over £300 for this same item. The drill is high quality and with the 3 year guarantee as well this is a no brainer if you are in the market for a new drill for work!

Good motor, poor chuck.
I've had this drill for 6 months now. The first one had to be returned as the chuck could not hold a drill bit for more than a few a comes before loosening. The second has now decided, after six months, to only work in hammer mode. The selector ring has broken and the chuck now overtightens when you use it to the point you need vice grips to loosen it. Overall, the XR range seem to have made a massive drop in quality over the older models. Considering moving over to Hitachi or Milwaukee from now on.

Beast of a drill
Compared with my previous drills which I am donating to the V&A this one is very well made and recommended

Works exceedingly well. Long battery life
I had a cheap cordless before. This is brilliant. Works exceedingly well (not given the hammer function much work out though) and the battery life is impressive so far. Update: I have now had this drill 2yrs and 11 months and it still holds up. I love it just as much as day 1. It has a fair bit of use but every week. The battery life remains impressive.

Not had much of a chance to use this yet but from what I can see it is excellent and good value from Amazon as per usual.
