Faber-Castell 1.4mm Leads (Pack of 2)

Seems to me these are better quality than competitor’s

I have used propelling pencils for years but my wife has preferred to use fountain pens for making notes. Sometimes, recently, when writing in a hurry, she has found it difficult to position the nib correctly. She does not like ball points or roller balls as the points are too fine, which makes subsequent reading difficult. So, after experimenting with some old ordinary pencils, we decided to look for a propelling pencil which had a decently wide lead of sufficient softness for ease of reading and writing and which had a clip so that it could be attached to her notepad. Only one could be found - the Faber-Castell - so we ordered it. Instead of having to wait for a week or so for delivery, as advised, both the pencil and leads, arrived by post two days later. The pencil is excellent in every way. It has a comfortable grip and the built in eraser works well, even though the lead is a BB. Thoroughly recommended.

Essential quality supplies.

Not much more to say really, other than that this product is almost entirely useless. These leads are very thick, and use up very slowly indeed. My E-motion pencil shipped with one fitted and two reserves, and I still haven't run through the first after nearly a year of casual (at least a few lines a day, and at east a dozen or two of A4 pages of notes) use. Perhaps someone who makes a living shading in swimming pools with a pencil by hand will get through this whole pack, but a mere mortal man might well die before he makes it halfway. My point basically is that you don't need to buy this when you buy a 1.4 mm pencil, because you might well be in the ground before you make it through the lead they ship the pencil with. This doesn't, of course, detract from the quality and innovation of the product though, so kudos to F-C.

These thick leads are the perfect complement to the Faber-Castel Mechanical pencil, great for drawing and sketching, not too soft and they keep a good firmness, whilst allowing for a smooth glide over the paper without scratching.

Pencil lead pure and simple but are really expensive for what they are.. just like many other leads

Mine gradazione B, prese per portamine E motiontutto perfetto.

Ces mines sont souvent vendues avec le porte-mines, en dureté 2H. Soit peu de contraste, mais très solides. En choisissant le 2B on obtient une meilleure lisibilité, et surtout une facilité de l'effaçage. En contrepartie elles sont fragiles, si utilisées avec douceur vous verrez le résultat.Depuis longtemps je n'utilise plus que le grade 2B, pas facile à trouver en papeterie.
