People gasp when they first walk into a well-designed home. As a host, you can watch as a visitor’s breath gets taken away as they scan their surroundings, trying to pinpoint the elements that give the locale its beauty, cohesion and theme.We’ve lived in a in a New York apartment that Vicente designed nearly 20 years ago and we still walk in at the end of each day and thankfully exhale – a sort of punctuation point to underscore the frenetic city remains outside our door. The beauty of our surroundings swallows us and we feel calmer, quieter and, yeah, just plain lucky to be able to call this remarkable space our home.The beauty of Vicente’s new book is that it provides suggestions, clues and prescriptions for creating a beautiful, cohesive space using design to craft a singular presentation from a variety of elements. He does two things that are helpful in this book. Tremendous photographs punctuate his anecdotes and stories about how clients, locale and circumstance play into the design of a home.But then he adds brief bullet points to expand the one-off lessons one might gain from looking at a single project into a fuller synopsis, as if enabling the book to capture a whole semester of an interior design course rather than one short lecture. With these “design lessons” synopsis at the end of every chapter, it is easy to grasp the approaches and devices that can applied to any such project.What a great takeaway!!

I received this book as a gift from one of my friends who is aware that I started following Vicente Wolf 2 years ago. I always rave about his IG posts. Once I started reading his book and seeing different photos of projects, layouts, and the stories behind the designs, all I can say is what an amazing talent. In my eyes, Vicente Wolf creates a timeless, clean, and sleek space. I admire how he can tie in one of kind pieces into his design. I will be purchasing his past books to start a collection of Vicente Wolf books. :)

I pre-ordered this book months ago. As a disclaimer, I think Vicente Wolf is genius. It takes a rare talent to create spaces that are impossible to date or timestamp. I am and will always be an avid fan...in Architecture school I used is projects as precedents regularly.This latest book was ordered with high anticipation but ultimately I found it underwhelming. I do appreciate the structure... focusing on one project...detailing the dynamic of the clients, design brief, process etc. However, in regards to photos and the projects themselves, it's nothing new. If you follow VW on social media, AT LEAST 90% of the photos and homes you have seen before...and not just similar photos but the EXACT same ones. It essentially is a bound version of the firm's social media posts. Also, a foreward (with single project photo) written by Marianne Williamson, goes into great detail of how Vicente's aesthetic changed her life and eventually her own apartment. However, minus the one photo, we never actually see the apartment. In my opinion an odd omission that would have been a great addition to the other projects featured. In contrast, the quality of the photos, text and structure is top notch. I'm happy to have it in my collection, however for me, nothing beats his first two books.

With a beautiful foreword by Marianne Williamson and exceptional text by Margaret Russell, the bold and fearless ideas of brilliant interior designer Vicente Wolf are revealed along with gorgeous photos of past and present projects. Ideas of balance, relishing challenges, reinventing rather than just discarding and the freedom of fear of boldly mising styles, colors. periods and provenances are clearly disclosed in a clear and concise way. This book should not be just a coffee table adornment but read and relished for its best kept design secrets.

This book is an absolute treasure for anyone that appreciates beautiful design.Vicente Wolf is a genius.A pleasure to read.

I have been a fan for 30 years and I have been fortunate enough to use Vincent 5 times. This book, like his others, demonstrates what Vincent takes away from his world travels and how he translates it to his design. Although he definitely has a “ style” his rooms are eclectic, moody and always contain an element of surprise. Finally, the book is great for anyone looking for decorating tips.

I've always admired his work and this book is no exception. Always an inspiration!
