My chin loves these sticks
My chinchilla Gibson took two days to completely devour this treat. It has a very pliable little wire that you can use to hang the treat from the ceiling, or secure to the wall. When he's done with the treat, he likes to chew on the wood in the center (Which I take away before he gets to the wire, but I was pleased it was there to protect the metal wire so your pet does not chew on it.) The package came with a lot of seeds which fell off, but I just put it in his food bowl for a final treat. I would buy these again.

Perfect Chinchilla Treat Stick
The Vitakraft brand is excellent, and these sticks are perfect for use with chinchillas. We have care-givers put 1 stick in our chin's cage every 4-5 days or so while we're out of town, and it helps to keep him happy and have something fun to chew/snack on. Be sure to remove the stick once all the tasty morsels are gone. The wire holder on the end means it can be hung on the side of the cage, or simply placed into the cage for your chin to hold.

Love it...well, my chinchilla does
Calvin, my chinchilla loves the calcium sticks and I am happy to buy them for him. There's not many snacks he likes but when I find one he does, I order three or four at one time. Happy chinchilla, happy owner.

My chinchillas love these but I have to get pliers to pull out the metal insert as they are sharp if they dislodge once my chinchillas chew down to the edge. Can cause injury if this were to happen. Once the metal is removed , this makes for a great treat!

Make this consideration before buying
I used to give this to my chinchilla all the time and she loved it. After a while, I noticed she started peeing cola colored urine. I found out chinchillas are suceptible to kidney stones, which can be very dangerous. Turns out, as long as you are feeding them a balanced diet (oxbow or exotic nutrition chinchilla foods are excellent) they need NO EXTRA CALCIUM.I conceed that it won't be an issue for every chinchilla, they are all different, but after I found out what was causing the issue, I stopped purchasing this beloved treat, and my Chinchilla's health returned to normal.I also discovered that this treat does have added sugar which also can cause long term issues in chinchillas, as they come from a region that provided a natural diet of very low sugar. Their pancreas' aren't equiped to handle all of that.In the end I decided it was better just to stay away, a conclusion that works for the health and happiness of my chilli-bean. No more blood pee, thank goodness, glad I was able to figure it out. :/
