Pai Skincare Exfoliating Scrub – Effective & Leaves Skin Feeling Smooth
The Pai Skincare exfoliating scrub came in a beautifully illustrated cardboard presentation box which would be lovely to gift. The box contains a 75ml tube of yellow coloured exfoliating gel which is easily dispensed by squeezing the tube and is ideal for occasional use on your face. The gentle exfoliator is formulated with jojoba beads which are perfectly spherical wax beads to gently buff the skin and smooth / brighten the skin texture without irritating – I don’t find it scratchy at all. It effectively lifts away dead skin cells and impurities for a clearer complexion and is also safe for the environment too. It also features kukui oil which contains a unique blend of omega 3 & 6 (linoleic acid) in combination with vitamin E which nourishes / conditions the skin and protects the moisture barrier during the exfoliation process. To use, dispense the gel onto your fingertips and massage onto dry skin in circular motions. Wet your fingertips and massage again to transform the gel into a cream like consistency and then rinse with warm water. It left my skin feeling very smooth and soft after use and the exfoliator did not irritate my skin at all and left no sticky residues. The scent is relatively light and is combination of nut and citrus and you only need a small amount each time. The exfoliator is made from 100% natural ingredients of which 95% are organic (although this product does contain nut oil) and is free from mineral oil, GMO, phthalate, SLS and parabens. Made in London by Pai Skincare, their products are all formulated in house and with high performing natural ingredients. This means that they are particularly good for sensitive skin without compromising on results. Their products are certified organic and are cruelty free / vegan and the company also has a sustainable and ethical ethos, from how the ingredients are sourced and processed to providing fair pay. Priced at £29 at the time of reviewing the exfoliator isn’t a cheap option but it contains a lot of high-quality ingredients and works effectively, so I would definitely recommend this product and brand.

Very gentle facial exfoliator
I haven't used an exfoliator with beads in a looong time so I was looking forward to trying this one as I love the brand. Can’t fault this product in any way, shape or form. Gentle but extremely effective. The scrub is soothing and smells pleasant. The small bits do not irritate my skin like some other exfoliators with massive clumps of grit! Perfect for people who usually can not use exfoliants like this. Works a charm on my skin. Visibly brightens and removes nasty stuff from the face. It also makes your skin feel so incredibly soft and smooth and not dry and tight at all due to the Kukui oil they used in the formula. I use this scrub every time I feel like my skin looks dull and needs some attention. I highly recommend this exfoliator and the brand in general, I have many products from the Pai range and can’t fault them.

Not As Good As Other Pai Products
I have a few Pai Skincare products and I have so far been impressed by them. This was not as impressive as the other products I have but I think a lot depends on your skin type and maybe this does not suit my skin as well as it may suit others, As with all Pai products it comes nearly packaged. You get a 75ml tube of exfoliater that is organic, vegan and cruelty free and which provides gentle exfoliation to lift away dead skin cells. I like that it does not feel harsh when using as it contains Jojoba microbeads, rather than the harsh ingredients that some products have where you feel like you are scrubbing your face with rocks! I did find that it took quite a bit of rinsing to remove all of the product and afterwards although my skin felt clean it also felt quite taut. I would not say it was uncomfortable as in I never wanted to use it again, it was just that I changed to only using it at night when I can follow with a night cream, which is richer than my day cream. I do not want to judge this too harshly but compared to how I feel about other Pai products it is not as positive. I have used exfoliating products which do not cost as much but suit my skin better. I am sure this may well suit other people better than it suits me but I can only give it three stars as it was just not great for me.

Pai Skincare London - Virtuous Circle Skin Exfoliator Gentle Not Harsh to Skin
Lovely subtle scent to it but my word the price of it puts me off it. Wouldn’t be able to use this a few times a week without thinking of my purse. Well over the twenty pounds mark nearer to thirty. For such a small sized tube not great value for money on that score. For the benefits though any dry flaky skin gets a good but gentle scrub. I used a small amount mixed in with my facial cream cleanser to see if it were too scratchy or not on face. The beads in it aren’t scratchy at all and even the dry skin areas didn’t appear red or look raised after using it. I can’t quite put my finger on the smell of it almost like an almond oil combined with lemon but nothing too strong at all. It feels more like a blob of cream to apply to skin rather than a facial scrub when squeezing it out of the tube. It’s gentle not harsh on the skin which is what you want but still gives out excellent results. I can’t say it left my skin brighter …. Nothing does that right away only after numerous uses would I expect to see anything like that. Not a name I’m familiar with at all but looks packaged well and presented in a good way. It’s ideal using on the area between neck and chest too. So much so I think I will be saving some of it for just that area come warmer months and using sun creams. As it seems good for sensitive skin and that area tends to need extra attention come then more so than ever with the ageing process.

My favorite pregnancy skincare brand! Still deciding if I'll go back to Skin Better and Alastin after the baby. Just wonderful.

I always make sure to exfoliate my face one or twice a week. This one by Pai Skincare is a bit more on the gentle side, both the ingredients and the texture itself. It is not abrasive or harsh at all, however it isn't completely gentle to where you don't feel like the beads are doing anything. It comes down to what kind of facial exfoliators you prefer - abrasive, something in the middle, or super gentle? There is no "good" or "bad", just personal preference. I personally have a few exfoliators, one that is abrasive and one that is gentle. I like to switch them up on a weekly basis just so I'm not damaging my skin yet also scrubbing away the gunk when needed. When you lather this, it does turn into sort of a milky white consistency. The fragrance is from essential oils, it is a light and enjoyable fragrance, nothing overwhelming. I can't pinpoint exactly which oil it smells like but it is a mix (sunflower, sweet almond oil, avocado oil, kukui oil, to name a few). I wouldn't say it is citrus-y but there's a little bit of that, and a little bit of a lemongrass type of scent although that's not one of the ingredients. I'm not sure how to explain it but it is a pleasant scent and like I said, light, nothing overwhelming. The one I got seems to be an updated brand design and packaging, so it does not look like the one in the stock photos at all. I don't know if the version shown in the stock photos is the old or new version but I like the one I got more - it looks more modern and clean, even the logo. The expiration date is listed on both the box as well as on the blister (top) of the tube (last 4 digits). Overall I am happy with this exfoliator and recommend it for anyone who prefers a gentler scrub or have sensitive skin.

Just didn’t seem to do much of anything

I didn't care for this product all that much for a couple of reasons. It's a multi-step process, where you apply to your dry skin, rub it in/around, then add some water to form a milky substance, rub some more. Then rinse off. And since it's oil based, you're left with soft of a slick feeling after, not really feeling cleansed. As far as its exfoliating properties, it seems to do just fine. Gentle, but some small beads to rub away dead/old skin. But I'm currently using another exfoliating face wash that I use in the shower, and I prefer the single step of just applying it with wet hand, rubbing it around, then washing it off and your face feels not only exfoliated, but also clean. I think this could perhaps make sense if you have very dry skin or in a very dry time of the year where you want some oil added to your skin. But personally, I'd rather just use moisturizer. So this doesn't really fit into my preferred skin regimen, so while this isn't problematic enough for me not to finish it over time, it's not something I'd choose to buy again personally. But I do very much admire the effort to make a clean, natural, vegan product.

I love to keep a tube of exfoliating moisturizers in the shower so it's easy to use and clean up. You can still put it on "dry" skin by using it immediately with your back to the shower, but I've also used it with the shower on and found it still did a great job. This exfoliating product leaves an oily layer to your skin to keep in moisture. I can see how some would not like this, but I personally like the way it sits on my skin. I haven't had any negative reactions to the product and the scent is so mild it does not irritate. Overall, I like this, and while I wouldn't necessarily spend this kind of money on this, it does do what it promises, while using safe ingredients.
