Beautiful pen, great price
Really like this pen. Purchased it for £129 via this Japanese seller on amazon. A great deal compared to UK and US sellers where it retails for >£200. The pen took 2.5 weeks to arrive, being delivered way before the expected shipping date. The build of the pen is fantastic. I find the weight of the pen is perfect, not too heavy, not flimsy or light. It is a short pen but the girth is fairly normal, can be used posted or cap off. The nib is fantastic. The engravings on it look amazing and I love the two tone finish that the pro gear has. The pen also writes well. As others mention, there is a bit of feedback but this mustn’t be mistaken for being scratchy or bad. The pen flows across the paper perfectly, feedback just means you can feel what the pen is doing, instead of some pens where they glide across the page with a very buttery feel. It’s just a matter of preference, I personally prefer this kind of fountain pen. The ink flow is great, despite being a Japanese Hard-Fine nib; plenty of ink comes out onto the page making fine but dark lines. I would, however, recommend using the pen with a darker ink. I have personally tried it with Mont Blanc toffee brown and Noodlers Black with great results. Warning: this pen does not come with a converter!

Gorgeous but not perfect...
This is such a lovely pen and I feel a little guilty about not giving a full 5 stars as I knew what I was getting and was not disappointed. The positives: the nib is a dream as would be expected from makers that pride themselves as probably the finest nib makers out there. As a pleasing side, the aesthetics of the nib are also great - lovely two-toned beauty. This extends to the pen as a whole. It is neat, quite formal, just what appeals to those who like something rather understated but classy. It also feels good in the hand, another positive. I have other, smaller Sailors but the extra girth here pays off. I post all my pens and this way it handles perfectly for my medium-sized male hand. Only one negative - the filling system. I don't mind converters but these proprietary ones are a little small...and I do like changing inks from time to time. I write with a fine nib but still find the pen runs out too often for convenience. If Sailor could sort this one aspect out they would have perfect pens. As it is, they have perfect nibs in a very attractive body!

LOVELY WRITING INSTRUMENT
I have been using fountain pens for many years and I have written with several of the common brands,e.g. Parker, Pilot,Lamy etc., but this is by far the best fountain pen I have written with. I live in the UK and it is not easy to obtain Sailor pens in Bristol. I do not know of a shop that sells them locally and I was only able to buy a Sailor pen on the internet. I was looking for good quality pen and I looked at several before picking the Sailor. There are several reviews on this model, especially on "you tube", and I decided to buy a Japanese pen because of the quality and care taken in producing this pen. I use a fine nib and this pen has a particularly fine point which is extremely smooth and produces an excellent flow of ink without skipping or drying out. The pen is light to hold and well balanced in my hand. This pen is highly recommended and well worth the money. The pen does not come with an ink converter for use with bottled ink, which was a little disappointing; I was able to order one from Amazon at additional cost, but two black ink cartridges are enclosed with the pen.

Go for fine line.
This is the best fountain pain I have owned. The weight is just right, great balance and perfect nib size. Makes you want to keep writing.

Lovely pen but…..
This is a lovely pen. The nib is unparalleled in its quality. The only problem is that with normal use , and no rough handling the cap has largely disintegrated.
