This is the only filter one of these dishes needs
You cannot replace changing the water in your pet dish with a filter. Dont be stupid, if you cant bother changing the water in your bowl once a day, you shoulldnt have a pet. BUt this is the one thing you do want for your system and it works great. It keeps particulate mater from entering the pump and charcoal helps the water smell and i can only assume tasting great. CHANGE YOUR WATER ONCE A DAY AT LEAST AND CLEAN THE DAMN THING TOO.

Leaves black soot in your cat's water bowl
Just like everybody else I needed replacements filters I've had these filters for a week or so now I've used one and every time I go to change my cat's water the water has black stuff floating in it I have tried soaking the filters for 24 hours before putting them in still no luck I am not sure why these filters do this but I will not be buying this brand ever again
