I was a little unsure about buying a nipple ruler at first, but honestly, this thing has made flange sizing so much easier! It’s super simple to use and really helps ensure I’m using the right size. Loved the material of the sizer itself, soft and flexible so I didn't have to worry about cutting a nipple. The measuring tape was also a soft material and can be used for other purposes as well so that convenient. Helped me get the perfect fit so Overall great useful product and I'd recommend it. This is a great cost-friendly and convenient little tool for determining flange size. I took off a star because I have a suspicious feeling that mine had been used due to the product and packaging looking “smudgy” and it had little specs and a pen mark, which is ironic considering they don’t seem to accept returns. I had already used it on my breasts before noticing. If they ARE selling used & returned items, I think customers should know and have the option to buy a cheaper, used version only if they consent.

Buy it! It’s so helpful to have a tool to figure out your size without having to make multiple orders of flanges because you have all the sizes already!

To start, I’m a first time mom who has wanted to give my baby only breast milk from the start. I was told that at delivery I would have lactation consultants visit each day to make sure that nursing was going well, and I did. Their main focus is to help you understand how to get a proper latch for you and baby (which is important!), but it would have been helpful as a standard of care practice for the lactation consultant to come in and show you how to measure for the correct flange size should you need to pump. My baby wasn’t getting enough milk which was only identified by her not getting to her birthweight by 3 weeks. Those 3 weeks were extremely challenging because I was told baby will just want to cluster feed (and it’s true they do!). However, I have never worked so hard just trying to get enough for baby to eat. No one asked me if I had checked my flange size, but rather I had to learn about flange size importance from a podcast. Getting the correct flange size is SO important if you plan to pump at all. In fact what I was able to express by simply changing flanges was significant—going from .5oz to almost 1.5oz - 2oz on each side.My breast pump came with a 24mm and a 28mm flange size but after getting this measuring tool, I realized that I personally needed an 18mm. Don’t assume that the flanges provided to you are the correct size. Measure. Measure. Measure!! Especially if you really do want to be successful at giving your baby breast milk! I feel like it should be standard practice to either have one of these tools in the pumps supplies or hospitals really do need to help (especially first time moms) understand how important this is.
