Pre-2008 Genuine Franke Replacement Lira Rubber Seal / Washer / Gasket for Franke Basket Strainer (Plug)

used on the plug to the middle sink of Franke drainer. This plug is push down to prevent liquids escaping when (say) washing and/or rinsing vegetables or other items. The Franke replacement Lira rubber seal fitted the underside of the 'push-down' very easily and works simply and effectively. If any are debating whether to buy this rubber seal for their pre-2008 Franke sink unit, I say go ahead buy it and fit it. You won't regret it.

I did hesitate at paying what seemed a lot for two bits of rubber but I have to say that I am pleased that I did. Great quality, they fit easily and now totally holding the water in both sinks - job done for hopefully another 10 years.

Perfect fit and good quality, but expensive. Warm the old plug and new seal in hot water as it makes replacement very simple. The old one just rolls off and the new one rolls back in.

Just because it's genuine and older model (as mine is) doesn't mean it will fit. Don't buy! You will be charged for return postage.

Ok, this does the job, and I appreciate that the seller doesn't manufacture the item, but nine quid for this is just crazy, even for a Franke replacement item. On the plus side, it saved me having to pay an even more ridiculous price for a genuine Franke sink strainer.

Prior to purchasing this product I bought a replacement sink plug that was flimsy and not fit for purpose. Luckily I kept the original Franke plug and was able to unscrew the middle connections and replace the rubber seal with this genuine part. Took a bit of elbow grease to unscrew the connections but after spaying it with a bit of oil spray and using spanner’s at top and bottom to unscrew it, I an so delighted with the end product. Over the years I have learnt never to throw out your old Franke taps, sink plugs etc, they can be repaired easily by a novice!! Also excellent customer service and prompt delivery bearing in mind the COVID pandemic and problems with Royal Mail post

This washer is smaller and has a different code number to the one on my original plug which was. 00252. S. 05 but it fits perfectly and the sink no longer leaks. I do think they are rather expensive for what they are, especially as I needed two!
