We had very old track light heads that used MR16/GU5.3 bulbs that we had upgraded to LED bulbs. One track head had died, the remaining six were falling apart, and our living room was much too dark and the light we did have was harsh.Upgrading to this kit *dramatically* improved the lighting! Instead of 6 x 490 = 2,940 total lumens, we now have 8 * 1,000 = 8,000 total lumens, and the light quality is much better as well. The old bulbs were 7W so this did increase the power draw from 6 x 7 = 42W to 8 x 10 = 80W, but for nearly three times the light, it was well worth it.The heads were easy to install. I did have to replace our old dimmer switch (Lutron SELV-300P) since these lights require a TRIAC dimmer, so I went with the TP-Link Kasa HS220 smart dimmer and they work great together. The calibration process for the dimmer has you set the minimum dimming at the point just before they start to flicker, and I could not get these bulbs to flicker even when dimmed so low they would be pointless to use. They were still rock solid when dimmed well below what a night light would put out! I had emailed the company with questions about dimmer switches and they were very responsive.In short, yeah, you may have to replace your dimmer switch, but these lights are a quick, cheap, and easy way to massively upgrade your lighting, and so far I haven't found any negatives.

The price and the light color temperature choice is a great option. Although I will seldom, if ever, need to change the light color, it was valuable to have so I can set the light color temperature to something I liked. One unit was defective and that was promptly replaced. My application is a bedroom office with a large U-shaped desk running along the 3 walls. The installed track is also U shaped and provides good overhead light for all work surfaces. Would certainly buy again.

ONE DID NOT WORK

This Vanoopee (set of 4) 10W 3-color integrated LED track heads were precisely what I needed to light up my wife's sewing desk. It uses an H style track, ordered separately, and it needs a TRIAC dimmer, ordered separately. I knew nothing about TRIAC dimmers before this installation but apparently any modern dimmer that is classified as 'universal' and specifically mentions applying to 'dimmable LEDs' is, in fact, a TRIAC dimmer even if not designated as such in the product description. The reviews did not mention or suggest any brands or models. I contacted Vanoopee support <[email protected]> for recommended switches. They got right back to me with:"Lutron: CT-600PH, CTCL-153P, MACL-153M, PD-6WCL, S-600P, TGCL-153P""Leviton: DSM10, IPL06-10, 6631-P, 6672, 6674."I ordered the Lutron TGCL-153P as an option which I'm sure would have worked well but I ended up using a $25.00 Pass and Seymour (P&S Legrand Radiant RHCL453PTCCCV6 Dimmer Light Switch) which worked beautifully. All of these LED switches have procedures for adjusting the low end dimmer range should you get flicker or not a full range of dimmability (if that's a word). The Legrand operated the lights beautifully right out of the box but I did adjust the low end a bit which took just a few minutes. Easy. Read the directions for the switch. YouTube does have some videos on the subject as well. All in all. I love the lights and the switch works flawlessly. I would buy any of these two products again.
