St. Joseph, the protector of the Holy Family, is peaceful at rest in this beautiful statue. I ordered it in the "wooden brown" color, and it looks just like the pictures. It is a heavy, well-made statue, and a daily reminder: St. Joseph, despite his infinitely important mission in life, was able to turn his cares over to Divine Providence at the end of the day. The statue reminds me - and my family - that we can choose to do the same. In addition, I love the base, which opens, inviting our family members to share individual worries and cares with St. Joseph, who will intercede for us in heaven with his Divine Son, as he helps us to carry our burdens while we sleep here on earth. This lovely statue is truly a beautiful reminder of this truth.

I purchased this lovely statue for my brother's birthday. Saint Joseph is the patron saint of Fathers, workers (men who work with their hands) and of a Holy death. My brother is a father of three, a builder, and I hope he outlives me. He was quite moved, apparently, when I gave him his gift, along with a letter of course, and I was very happy with this purchase - the sleeping Saint Joseph, letting us know that we must all, at some point, take rest.
