Tiny awesome thing
Bought this to replace my battered old Grundig YB300PE that was missing an antenna and ate batteries like candy. I wanted something simpler and smaller: an AM/FM radio portable enough to carry w/me from room-to-room in the morning as I listen to NPR. This little radio is just right: simple and portable, w/good reception. It 's not serious hi-fi sound quality; it doesn't need to be. For a device about the size of a man's wallet, the sound is good, especially for NPR and BBC news and talk shows. It's durable enough, for a lightweight plastic thing; don't throw it at anything, and it'll probably be OK. Battery life isn't great, but I get 40+ hours of use before needing to replace two AAA batteries. (My Grundig ate up three AA batteries more quickly.) My only real complaint is that the user documentation is kind of horrible. It touches on features (setting time, alarm, memory programming, etc.), but it could be much better. Use the manual as a general outline, not a step-by-step guide. Good thing the basic features are simple and intuitive. All-in-all, this is a great little radio at a good price point. If you're a news and talk show listener, I highly recommend this radio.

Don’t buy this radio! Hard to use and extremely fragile!
I bought this small radio for my wife to use while she was out gardening. The reception was so-so and the sound was so-so, with some tinniness. It was very difficult to use. It was dropped within a couple of weeks and the glass screen broke. That made the LED obliterate the screen, so it was no good to use. I use the directions car trying to figure out how I could put it on one station and just leave it there and could not do it. On top of that while I was trying to figure that out, which I worked on for a couple of weeks, the alarm, which had never been sent, decided to activate itself at midnight every night. The only way I could deactivate the alarm was to take out the batteries. Even leaving the batteries out for several days did not stop the alarm going off again once once batteries were reinstalled.I would never buy this radio again, or any other item made by this company.

Vendor of excellence!
This is a compact radio about as tall and wide but only half as thick as a pack of cigarettes. The case is solid and sturdy. It's a good looking radio. It won't bring in the weak signal distant AM stations (See Addendum below), like, say, a car radio sometimes will, but it's fine for local reception within a reasonable distance on both AM and FM. (FM reception is as good as any other radio.) (At least that was my experience the morning I used it when I put it through its paces.) Comes with an earphone jack or use the built in speaker. It has a collapsible antenna for FM and an internal antenna for AM. Sound quality is excellent on speaker and earphone. It's digital all the way so you won't spend eternity thumbing around with drifting stations. The unit comes with instructions...which IF followed will let you program the little booger to your heart's content. I had NO problem and it was actually fun. All sorts of dandy features. As many and more as you'll find on a good car radio. In short, it's great for its purpose. Because of the design I would expect that if you take care of it, it will outlast you. I would suggest that if you plan on storing it for any length of time to remove the batteries and put them and the radio in a sandwich bag.Now to the best part. Here's what the seller promises above.... "We are committed to providing you excellence and satisfaction. If you are not happy with our product, we will refund 100% of your money..."My radio came in missing a battery spring (I got mine to work for a test spin by robbing a spring from an old TV remote). So I contacted the seller the day it arrived which just happened to be Christmas eve. On Christmas day I found a reply in my inbox from Carrie Vondior.Said she, "I am so sorry that your order of our AM/FM Radio arrived with a missing spring part on the battery compartment. You must have been sent a "lemon."I have facilitated a new delivery for you for free! There will be no need to return the product that has an issue. We do not want to inconvenience you in sending back the said product."We exchanged a couple of more emails and I can't begin to tell you how impressed that I was with Carrie and their whole enterprise. As refreshing as a snow cone in the desert. If you have ever been left high and dry or kinda mad because of lousy customer service before you'll understand my delight with my good experience.I don't know their situation, but I expect that they are a small time vendor. They have GREAT heart and a business model that can not fail. They actually CARE about their customers. As we all know the product is only as good as the warranty. As I write, my shiny new replacement is on my desk between me and you. It came in today as promised. And, the bonus was that I got to meet with THE seller herself through the email. What a wonderful person and company ethic.Long story short, order with confidence and use with confidence. Thanks Carrie Vondior. You did good! Good product. Great customer service! Five stars for Carrie! (The radio too!)Addendum: I'm going to leave the part in there about the "distant" stations because it was true the other day. However...I couldn't resist! When I stopped writing I plugged batteries into my new radio and guess what? I'm listening to WSM, home of The Grand Ole Opry. That AM powerhouse rascal is like 300 miles distant from here and the best test for AM reception in my situation. So this night it's pulling in the "distant" stations!! Well now! Looks like I just found myself a GREAT camping radio! A campfire and The Grand Ole Opry in my shirt pocket. Money well spent!

Poor AM reception, okay FM reception
Marketed as an AM FM pocket radio, but AM reception is definitely lacking. FM sensitivity is okay, as is the sound quality. Very compact and lightweight, easily fits in shirt pocket.

Nice Little Radio for its size
This radio is very compact & thin. Keeping this in mind the speaker is a bit tinny & thin sounding. The headphone experience on FM Stereo is great. AM talk radio is ok too, sometimes a low level noise on the signal. I use any old earbuds I have on hand. The AM internal ferrite bar antenna is extremely small and keeping your expectations realistic this radio receives local & strong stations pretty well. The internal antenna is directional on AM & moving the radio around greatly affects the signal on weaker stations. Don't expect to pull in distant/weak signal as this radio is not designed for "Ultralight" DXing the mediumwave bands. FM is very good with good selectivity & again sounds great with earbuds in stereo. The instructions are WRONG. The Mode button in the instructions should be the Mem button. You will need this info to set the time! The display is very nice, blue and illuminated. Buttons have a nice snappy feel, not mushy at all. It weighs nothing and can easily fit in a pocket or purse. I cannot comment yet on battery life but having used this all day and running it overnight bedside, the battery indicator has not budged. In all, keeping your expectations realistic this is a fun little radio. You can automatically seek & store channels or manually add them yourself. For the price I am enjoying this little radio which is also visually appealing.
