Fantastic
Got Critters at war 3 months before buying this. Can't believe i waited so long. This is the better game by quite a bit. A couple of the cards from the original tend to stagnate the game. This on the other hand puts things in overdrive! It allows for more cunning and strategy. The fact that the 2 games can be intertwined by swapping areas and decks makes having them both exceptional. Also this game includes "epic mode" which allows for 5 of the 6 total areas to be utilized. These games will be a mainstay in my collection. Hope they release a 3rd version someday, I will get that too!

It's a great standalone with different tactics.
I love the original but after awhile you learn all the cards and have an idea of how things will play out... but this expansion plays the same, but has different abilities/tactics which was refreshing. It's a fun stand alone, but I can't wait to try it with the original and epic mode!I like the new "supplies" abilities which basicly add strength, but also having to give strength at times so it has a give and take to some tactical decisions.I will admit I like the art and brightness of the original better, but this expansion has its own darker charm which I guess is the theme.A small bonus feature I didn't realize when purchasing that might interest some, is there's variants to play this game with up to 4 people. (1v2 or 2v2) and the players on the same team can't communicate their cards except during setup when they exchange a card (after they look at their hand)... it's sounds interesting a fun.
