Arcadia FBC20X Bird Lamp, Compact 20W, UV-Lampe für Exoten, E27

I have been using this for my Kakariki small parrot for 3 months now for 4 hours each day, Rudy has always had bad molting problems and he has always been pretty much bald since we bought him home, I have read that Kakariki birds tend to have feather problems in captivity. So following a visit to an amazing Avian Vet where we were given great advice and reassurance from a very caring bird doctor called Brian Stanton from Leyton I have been using this Avian Light and I have been using Complete Bird Supplement and Guardian Angel powder which I purchased from the amazing Bird Care Company online, in combination with a high quality parakeet seed mix with milled flax, pumpkin, sunflower, chia seeds and goji berries with fruit and veg, and LOTS of love =), well, Rudy has never looked this good!, he is growing feathers in places and showing colors which I have never seen on him before. I never knew until now that he had yellow feathers mixed in with his red top. I GUESS THERE IS A CURE FOR MALE PATTERN BALDNESS AFTER ALL =) ( will update with some pics soon ) Worthwhile investment for your birds health and I recommend wholeheartedly. Update: 06 July 2019 Hi all, well Rudy did not go completely bald last fall and Winter which I was really counting on, this is the first ever time this has happened as with his seasonal molt he loses all of his feathers on his head!, I have cut back his Avian light time as I have also been taking him outside with me when the weather is ideal as Rudy loves to bask in the sun and believe that the outdoors also contributes to his well being and health. He seems healthy and chirpy, we have always allowed him flying and perching space in the living room as parrots tend to need and like, he is molting and grooming healthily now and has even been sharing some of his beautiful colourful long wing and tail feathers with us which my elder sister loves and takes home with her =) but he never really seems to share those very beautiful vibrant blue ones on the outside of his wings though =( To be honest, I do not think that Rudy will ever get to look like a Kakariki does in the wild, but I do think that he has reached about 80% and who knows maybe he will do even better for the next year?, which is all that we could ask for after viewing some old pics of him and comparing him to the state that he was in before!. Nobody wanted Rudy due to his health problems, and was the last one left in the pet shop, but since coming to a home like ours, he is probably the luckiest one out of his more perfect and popular brothers and sisters are, because he has probably received the most Love. Rudy is happy, which in my opinion is the most important thing of all. Peace.

Rectified my rescue blue tit's vitamin D deficiency within a week. Was a bit horrified at the price but it's a specialist lamp and the bird needed it (he lives free range in the house as he has seizures and can't perch, he'd never cope in the wild) as his beak was starting to grow a needle like protrusion on the tip which my research suggested was likely a vitamin D deficiency as he's not getting sunlight on his oil gland. He's a much happier bird now. The lamp doesn't get hot and he sits on top of his cage preening right next to it.

old lamps work, bought a new one to replace, the new one doesn't work. wanted to make a return, they ask to return the goods, I'm in Ireland, send me back this lamp that doesn't work, more expensive than it's worth.

i use this for my african grey who doesn't get normal sunlight. its nice and compact and not too bright. i use it with the arcadia reflector so all the light is aimed straight into the cage and doesnt get lost around the room. the only reason i haven't given 5 stars is i'm yet to see if its made any difference to my bird as i've only been using it for a few weeks.

Bulbs what can I say lol They light up used for my birds

I used these Arcadia bulbs on my 2 parrots for 6 years with a great beam of light on my birds

Bought this bulb multiple times for our pet bird over the years, sadly over the last two purchases my bird's feather health deteriorated and needed a new bulbs in rapid procession - the last purchase fortunately a friend was visiting who is a professor at RGU who evaluated the UV levels and deemed it spent (even though it was only 2 days old at the time and the light was working). In the past we always got a life of >6 months with a bulb, recently it has been less than 14 days before the feather health is affected. His opinions was either the company has gone corrupt, or something is in place on Amazon that people are using the UV up on bulbs and sending them back on refunds/exchanges which is disgusting. With this I purchased a new bulb direct from an online pet store, the SAME label as this - it had the full UV level count and is gradually improving our birds health although it is taking time due to my stupidity trusting the previous bulbs. Please if you buy a bulb on here, get a test machine for UV which are only a few pounds. Your birds health is far more important and something very unscrupulous is going down with these bulbs sadly :(

I needed this for my parrot but it smashed after using it no more then 4 times. Did not complain or return. Was just thankful my parrot was unharmed.

Je l'ai achetée sous les conseils de la vétérinaire qui recommande vivement les lampes Arcadia. La lampe est dans un grand pied Avian. Il faut que le perroquet s'habitue. D'après la vétérinaire il ne faut laisser la lampe que 15min à 30cm du perroquet. 1x par jour.

Éclaire très bien, mais mes perruches ne vont pas en dessous de la lumière donc je ne peux pas trop me positionner sur l'effet qu'elle a sur les perruches, en tout cas elle éclaire très bien et on dirait de la lumière naturelle, je recommande donc. Mais un peu cher quand même

Ottimo prodotto, prezzo invitante , da leggere bene che la durata del uvb/uva è limitata a un anno di vita quindi tecnicamente dopo un anno sarebbe da cambiare ! (Lo scrivo perché molta gente scrive duratura ) la luminosità sibbene sia una 20/22 watt non è delle migliori illumina poco più di una lampadina da comodino, ma giustamente è un prodotto che si suppone di essere usato a 30 cm dalla gabbia dei vostri pennuti ! Attenzione ad abusarne perché stimola la riproduzione ritrovandoci poi magari pappagalli troppi agitati o aggressivi !

Lampe wurde schnell geliefert, funktioniert einwandfrei und sorgt dafür dass mein Papagei freudiger und lebhafter in der dunklen Jahreszeit ist. Passt alles :-_

Es leuchtet echt sehr gut und sorgt dafür, dass ich mir nun nicht mehr den Kopf stoßen muss in der Nacht. Das ist doch schon mal einen extra Stern wert.
