Hours of fun, great story, great gameplay.
My Diablo journey started a long time ago. My first experience was playing Diablo on the PC. I loved that game, and I played it to completion. I even got the Monk expansion! When Diablo 2 came out, that really took gaming to another level. The whole system of exploring, looting, fighting and working as a team or battling it out was epic. It also had fascinating settings, the journey into the depths of Hell itself was particularly satisfying. The battle for the Worldstone in the barbarian homeland was equally epic. I honestly lost count of the hours I lost meeting up with friends to go adventuring in Diablo 2. It was only marred by online cheaters and hackers breaking the games online economy somewhat. So how does Diablo 3 compare? Well, I'll be honest I played D2 on a mouse and keyboard on PC, I was sceptical it would work well on a controller. Thankfully I was proven wrong though. I actually bought this twice I liked it so much! Once as vanilla Diablo 3 for the 360, then I bought this - the Ultimate Evil Edition for Xbox One and I downloaded the Necromancer DLC. All the joy of exploring, fighting and looting is back. I will say, I don't think the story is QUITE as strong as Diablo 2, but that's a common fault in sequels. It's still compelling, engaging and told in the form of battles you fight, characters you talk to and beautifully rendered cut-scenes.The locations all have their own theme too and though the game is played across 2 dimensions, I really appreciated the effort the developers went to to give each location depth and a a 3D quality. You can team up over Xbox Live or on the same console, working as a team to defeat the forces of evil. All in all there's a lot to like here. It's not without it's flaws though. There are times when things DO get a bit samey. Particularly when you're character is getting REALLY well equipped and playing on a harder difficulty. As you progress through the difficulty settings the levels seem to get bigger and bigger. This is a good thing up to a point, but there does come a tipping point where it starts to expose the repetitive nature of the combat. Also the levels are randomly generated at times and as such occasionally generate layouts which are functional, but a bit odd. Like they don't really make sense? This really doesn't affect gameplay, but it can spoil immersion a little. It's hard to explain exactly what I mean by this, but I can only say you might be exploring the city in the post-Diablo portion of the game where you're seeking Maltheal the Angel of Death, you wander down an alleyway and something about the layout just makes you go 'Eh?'I haven't actually played all the characters in this game yet. So far I've played the Barbarian and the Necromancer to death. However, they all seem to have their own strengths, weaknesses and character. I suspect if you were taking on Diablo and his minions with friends it would probably suit to all choose different characters who complemented each other's abilities. The main quest is VERY long, particularly once you're in the higher difficulties. If you factor in replay with all the character classes, then taking on the Seasonal play and the rifts... Well let's just say this game has oodles of replay value and will keep you coming back for more again and again. Yes, the combat CAN get a bit repetitive, but the draw of delving deeper, fighting harder monsters and finding rarer, more exciting loot is hard to argue with.To sum up, great game. Fantastic follow on to Diablo 2 and this Ultimate Edition is well worth it above the standard. This will be best fun with a couple of mates on the same console, all having a bash together.*Edit: One thing I should tell you, is this. If you played base Diablo 3 on the Xbox 360 and linked your online save to BattleNet, you can then import that character to the Xbox One version of D3 Reaper of Souls, Ultimate evil edition. I can confirm this works. I did it myself. I DO recall having to fire up my 360 and load up base D3 on it, so if you don't have your 360 any more and you haven't already done the stuff you need to do - you might have an issue. But if you have your D3 disc and a working 360 to play it on you can port your characters to this version. Hope that helps.

Good game, but far far too easy
Good game, but far far too easy. It's a shame you can't change the difficulty to maximum from the beginning. By the time you are able to do this, your character can easily defeat any opponents the game can throw at you. I played through as a wizard and could defeat most enemies in seconds. The graphics, sound, and effects are top notch, and the overall presentation is polished and slick. I've yet to explore the game past the main campaign or play through as another character as others have done, but probably will do at some stage. Although, not in any rush to do so now been through the game once. Will update once have any more information
