Amazon Essentials Men's Full-Zip Fleece Jacket - Discontinued Colours

This may not be the best fleece jacket you will ever own, but it could well be the best value for money. Fleece is a fairly basic material that is reasonably warm, highly breathable and fairly light weight, compared to say wool. However it offers almost no protection against wind or rain so is best suited to being worn as a mid layer. This jacket offers almost no frills e.g. no shoulder or elbow reinforced patches, no 2 way zip and not even a hem cord with cord locks. However most of these features merely add weight and cost and provide very little benefit in the real world. Ultimately what really matters are decent materials, good quality construction and accurate sizing and happily this jacket is very good when it comes to these criteria. Overall this jacket provides good warmth, from a mid weight material, being around twice the weight of a micro fleece fabric. It fits me very well and the slightly elasticated cuffs and hem are sufficient to keep out any draughts. There are two hand warming outer pockets with zips and additionally 2 large inside “poacher” pockets big enough for a Ordnance Survey map but much more likely to be used for a hat or light weight windproof shirt/waterproof smock. The poacher pockets also provide a useful double layer of insulation, like wise the collar also has double thickness of material If worn under a Goretex type jacket you may miraculously find that the jacket suddenly becomes far less leak prone. This is because around 99% of the moisture inside the jacket is not in fact rain coming in, but sweat that cannot get out, but can be managed very effectively by the fleece.

I couldn’t find a ladies fleece in the grey colour I wanted, so bought this. I would say it is a medium weight,the quality seems pretty good although I’ve not washed it yet. I bought a small ( I’m around a size 12 ) and it is a little big ( good for the winter ) but I don’t mind that, sleeves are nice and long, great to have outside zip pockets and inside pockets ( haven’t got a hole in mine 🤷‍♀️) will buy another colour and try the XS. Was looking for a fleece to wear around the house and for popping to the shops during winter. I came across this great Amazon essential item while browsing during black Friday. Got the Khaki Green colour I was looking for and went a size up for comfort and incase I wanted to layer up underneath. The fleece feels so comfortable and keeps me warm. The zipper is on the opposite side as its American made but after two or three attempts I got used to zipping it up. Quality feels fine and color is nice. For the price this is an "Essential" Amazon purchase. Picture one taken on day of purchase in the daytime. Picture two taken a year later in the evening with the room light on.

I bought 2 of these (2 sizes, Large & Extra large which is now too big for me, so have ‘borrowed’ my wife’s Large one - we would NEVER wear them at the same time when out together!!) at the end of 2022 at price that’s half what it is today. I wouldn’t call it a ‘Polar’ fleece because compared to other fleece jackets that I have it’s relatively thin & lightweight. However, the benefits include: 1) Suitability for all year (in the UK) other than when heat is exceptional. 2) Zip up side pockets mean stuff doesn’t accidentally fall out. 3) Quickly air drys after washing. 4) Folds up small for stowage in backpack when travelling.

Other reviewers have complained about the zip on “wrong” side, but a more serious problem is that the 2 very useful inside pockets have slit holes in the bottom (maybe to allow MP3 headphones to be threaded through?) which makes them useless for keys, coins, smaller phones (my iPhone SE goes straight through). So you need an obliging lady with needle and thread to fix this first before you lose your stuff. Otherwise, an OK fleece, with two front zip pockets, rather loose fit on the chest, but good value for money.

The only thing against this fleece is that the zip is left handed. A bit unusual but once you’re used to it it fine. It’s warm and comfortable and fits well.

A very inexpensive garment. What did I expect? Not much really. What did I get? A surprisingly good quality fleece with strong frontal zip and two zipped security pockets, in comfortable material. It's of a weight that will work with a t shirt in summer and as an additional layer in winter. I'm very pleased with this purchase. It comes in a variety of colours and at that price i'll probably buy a couple more to ring in the changes.

The quality was better than expected. Really nice, soft, thick fleece. Fits true to size. Bought as a gift. It doesn’t look cheap. Well made and excellent value for money. Impressed

Meine erste Polar Fleecejacke von Amazon essentials und bestimmt nicht meine letzte. Das Fleece ist super Dick und eng gestrickt. Man kann die Jacke gegen die Sonne halten und es kommt so gut wie kein Licht durch. Genau das was ich für den Winter gesucht habe. Einzigst das der Reißverschluss "verkehrt herum" ist stört ein wenig. Ich freue mich schon auf den Langzeittest. Ich habe auch einige "Marken" Fleecejacken, da fragt man sich schon warum die so teuer sein müssen. Preis Leistung stimmt da nicht wirklich

The Fit: I am 6ft,165lb with broad shoulders, long arms and no gut. I wear a size MEDIUM like a sweater with only a Tshirt underneath. In MEDIUM it fits me with a trim fit and the sleeves are the right length for me. It fits me perfectly. To wear this as a jacket over thicker base layers I might need a size larger. The sleeves are attached at a sensible angle so it is possible to raise the arms freely and move freely, which is a very welcome feature, thank you Amazon! The Material / Stretch: I have three colors: the red buffalo plaid, charcoal heather and navy blue. The charcoal heather and navy blue are a traditional fleece that has some normal stretch to it but is not a "stretch" fabric. The red plaid feels more like a felt that doesn't stretch very much. I like them all but the red plaid is a bit tight in the elbows at first but does eventually stretch to fit. Warmth: It is a mid-weight fleece like advertised. I wear it indoors like a sweater. Pockets: The inner wall of the pockets are constructed of the same fleece as the jacket, so that creates two layers of fleece in those areas, making the jacket feel thicker in that area but not bulky. I would prefer pockets made of a thinner mesh or fabric but that isn't a big issue. The extra fabric adds some warmth that some people will prefer. Pockets are deep and have zippers so are both warm and secure. I've had these jackets for about 6 weeks and wear them frequently, sometimes with a vest over the top for additional warmth when needed. This is a nice item, no complaints so far.

Bought it as a layer under my winter gear. Nice fit, heavier fleece then expected which was nice and warm. No issues with the finish so far. Good basic value fleece for the price.
