N1WM4 Laptop Battery Replacement for Dell Alienware 13 R2 13.3" 2VMGK 62Wh 15.2V

The original battery in my old, but beloved Alienware 13 R2 was completely dead. Every time I powered it on, I would get warnings about just how unbelievably and irrevocably dead it was. The procedure to replace the battery is more than a little obnoxious, but if you've spent some time around micro screwdrivers, plastic ribbon cable retention mechanisms, and are methodical about tracking which screws come out of where, you can do this with patience and sometimes a light application of profanities. Just remember, the wires in a laptop are very thin and ribbon cables and their retention mechanisms can be fragile and unforgiving. This is not the fault of the battery being sold here, but Alienware's design team who, shockingly, seems to have never expected the original battery to actually die. At least not without shelling out a pretty penny for professional replacement. This replacement battery fits and operates perfectly. I would say it's just like the original, but I state again just how dead my original one is, where this one is young and full of life. No nasty messages when I power it on. No having to reset all the BIOS settings if I have the audacity to unplug the AC adapter. Just a fully working laptop ready to tear through my backlog of AAA games from 12 years ago. Should I find myself needing another battery, I know where to look and hopefully you're convinced as well.

Works perfect for rebuilt Alienware 13 R2

This battery is not compatible with my Alienware 13 r2 Laptop. Proper installation of the battery requires extensive disassembly of the laptop (removal of keyboard and motherboard). It is quite time consuming. After installation the battery I purchased was not recognized by the laptop, nor did it charge.Upon further investigation I discovered on a dedicated laptop battery site that there were two different batteries used in this laptop model. They are physically identical but one model is a 14.8v battery and the other is a 15.2 volt model. The 15.2 volt battery sold here as being compatible with the Alienware 13 r2 model is in not compatible with all versions of this laptop due to the possible difference in voltage. This is something that should have been disclosed and clearly explained in the listing. If you are planning on purchasing this battery for your laptop, check the voltage indicated on the existing battery to verify it is 15.2v not 14.8v to save yourself a lot of time and frustration. It is disappointing the vendor does not make this fact known.

This has been installed and working in my laptop for a few weeks and is working just fine. No problems installing.
